[3rd POV~Oops Unedited]

"Pussy," Bella muttered bitterly, glaring at her father who lay on his back on the bed. There was a piece of white paper and an empty bottle of pills next to him. While their father-daughter relationship was far from loving, Bella had never truly hated him until now. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed, she leaned in close to his ear and whispered, "You fucking coward, choosing the easy way out." The venom in her voice would have sent shivers down anyone's spine if they had been present in that moment.

Never in her life did she imagine she would call her father, the cruelest and bravest man she had ever known, a coward. But to Bella, those who committed suicide were pathetic weaklings who couldn't face their demons head-on, and they were selfish pieces of shit who didn't think about the pain they left behind.

After sending a quick text to Enzo, her father's right-hand man, she lay on her stomach next to her father's lifeless body and waited for Enzo to arrive. She deliberately turned away from her father, not out of fear, but because she didn't trust herself. She knew it wouldn't be difficult to resist the temptation to violently attack the selfish coward and kill him for a second time if she stared at him for more than a few seconds.

After lying next to a deceased individual for an hour, a single knock on the door preceded Enzo's entrance. He wore black gloves and carried a small black case containing all the necessary tools. Both individuals in the room prepared themselves.

"Are you ready?" Enzo asked, glancing at the woman who was partially unclothed.

"Just do it," Bella replied.

With that, Enzo began tattooing Bella's back. Soon, the room filled with Bella's painful groans. There were no drugs or numbing agents allowed; it was a rule. She had to endure every ounce of pain, unless she passed out while the giant phoenix was being inked onto her back. Luckily, in the midst of the piercing sensation, Bella lost consciousness.

Upon regaining awareness, Bella's father remained by her side. Ignoring the excruciating pain in her back, she sat up, using her shirt to cover her bare chest. Present in the room were her grandmother, Chiara, and Enzo. Despite the agony, Bella fought back tears, silently lamenting, "This hurts like hell," before sliding off the bed.

Soon as her feet touched the expensive looking wooden floor...

Chiara and Enzo immediately lowered their heads, expressing submission and respect to the newly appointed head of the Ricci family.

The new phoenix had risen from the ashes, metaphorically speaking, as in the real world, people cannot be burned to ashes and be reborn from them.

According to the Ricci family rule, if the head of the family passed away, it was required that no one touched or moved the body until the successor had a large phoenix tattooed on their back, right next to the deceased family head. This rule was inspired by the symbolism of the phoenix.

The deceased individual symbolized the ashes of the fallen phoenix, while the person who would rise next to them represented the rebirth of the phoenix.
