[3rd POV~Oops Unedited]
As Bella walked out of the boardroom that day, she left behind a puddle of blood on the floor. A powerful man lay dead on the ground, and she couldn't help but feel a surge of power herself. The shock on the faces of the others made her feel like a rebellious girl, and strangely, it felt good. She was completely satisfied to see the men, who had the ability to ruin the country, shaken by the threat she had casually thrown at them.
She was ready for the blood war she had just initiated, ready to spill more powerful blood. However, her arrogance proved to be her downfall. Bella had been so sure that she would be the one to deliver the final blow and end the game she had started. But now, as she stood before the dark brown mound with flower beds, separating her from her brother, she realized she had lost after playing just one card. She took a deep drag from her cigarette, tilting her head to observe the nimbostratus clouds before exhaling the smoke.
She had lost. That was the simple truth. She had paid with her brother's innocent life.
Since waking up in the hospital room with two bullet wounds, Bella had been like a robotic version of herself. She felt nothing, not even numbness, when she recalled the image of her brother lying there. But now, Bella was no longer strong enough to maintain her robotic facade. She allowed the pain of losing someone she loved to wash over her body, she allowed regret to consume her, and she allowed her heart to be filled with disgust.
She was unable to revive Lucas; all she could do was let tears stream down her face. The sky joined her, shedding tears as if sharing her pain. Lucas was gone, and she blamed herself for it. Those words haunted Bella's mind. Eventually, the weight of her actions and losses became too much for her to bear, and she sank to the wet ground. She sobbed hysterically, her nails digging into the muddy earth, and she screamed bloody screams all alone in the rain.
The sky wept along with her, and as her emotions intensified, the rain poured down heavily upon her. Time passed, and Bella remained a mess in the graveyard, though she no longer screamed or sobbed. From a distance, she saw her shadow with an umbrella approaching. With her guards completely down, knowing she could be attacked at any moment, she remained on the ground, abd not prepared to defend herself if necessary.
The shadow placed something on Lucas's grave, which Bella assumed to be a rose, although her vision was blurred from rain and tears. The shadow then moved to stand beside Bella, shielding her from the cold rain with an umbrella. "May God be with you in this difficult hour and heal your pain, dear," a soft, low-pitched feminine voice said.
A humorless chuckle escaped Bella's lips as she bitterly remarked, "Your god made a mistake and took the wrong person." She couldn't help but feel confused to some extent that Luca was sleeping in a small, cold, and dark place instead of her.
Shouldn't God be cleaning his earth, taking out trash like her? A hand gently rested on Bella's shoulder, patting her a few times before departing. The unknown woman left.
"Wait for sis," Bella left those words with Luca before picking herself up from the mud. She had a few things to take care of before joining him.
She left the graveyard, passing by her men waiting in a black SUV outside, but Bella walked past them and let her feet guide her. The rain that had started minutes ago, so there were no people rushing to seek shelter or get inside their cars. Bella was the only person walking down the street, unaffected by the rain.
As she passed an alley, Bella heard a voice asking, "Where did you hide the money?" She knew what was happening, but it wasn't her concern; she didn't care who was being mugged.
However, a pathetic voice pleading for help caught Bella's attention. The curious girl decided to investigate and see who sounded so helpless. "Ah, hyenas attacking in a pack," Bella observed, watching the scene unfold before her. Three guys stood tall, beating up one guy.
