As the mission was a huge success, We were able to steal the prototype weapons from the SDF Skelter we stole from the enemies. Katt decided to get to work on making some replicas of the prototype for our advantage.
Loona and I headed to the bridge as the crew was watching the newsreel in the crew lounge that Tigris destroyed SDF Cerberus after we retreated with the prototype successfully.
"That will teach them to mess with the UNSA." Falco says as he drinks a beer.
"Yeah. Hey Stan, you want a beer? Since you deserve one for defeating one of their ships." Nika says as she opens one for me.
"Sure thanks." I said as I took a swig and headed back to the captain quarters to update the wanted board and sat down on the computer for any updates from Natalya or Raines about the situation of Earth. Nothing yet for another main mission.
I headed out of the quarters and went to see how Dasha was doing since I haven't heard from her after she protected me while I was unconscious due to lack of oxygen. I went to ask Krystal in the cafeteria where she was and told me that she is relaxing in the barracks.
Dasha was watching some TV while laying on the bed until I knocked.
"Come in." She calls.
"Hey sis." I said as I came in.
"Hey Stan. Are you doing alright?" She asked as she stood up with a smile.
"Yeah, destroyed another Set-Def ship and stole some of their new weaponry. Just wondering if you recovered well?" I asked.
"I'm good. The medic said I had to take it easy yesterday for some minor injuries, but I'm ready for another mission." Dasha explains.
"Great. We're planning on doing another mission to bring down the SDF more. Like a Jackal airstrike mission that you don't want to miss out on." I explained.
"Count me in. I want to kill some pricks for Earth in mid-space." Dasha says as she grabs her space helmet.
"I'll head to the bridge to let everyone else know." I spoke as I headed back to the bridge.
We explained on the map and decided to choose a mission at Europa.
"There is SDF presence around Europa trying to block us from collecting water there. We noticed now that there is only one SDF destroyer alone. We go and destroy it, it's an easy win. Scar-team and Starfox will handle this since its air to air combat mission." I explained as I marked the map.
"Sounds too easy." Loona says suspiciously
"Let's find out." Dasha says as she follows us to the hangar.
As we headed to the hangar, we noticed that Katt finished making the replicas of the skelter weapons we stole from the SDF onto our jackals, and Krystal and Falco's Arwings.
"Finished equipping the new weapons. They will give an advantage in fighting off the enemy." Katt explains as she finishes drilling the last screw.
"Awesome! Want to try it out on some SDF targets." Loona says as she gets into her jackal.
"Then, let's go destroy that SDF ship then." I said as I turned on the ignition of my jackal.
"To be honest. This sounds too easy. Possibly a trap." Loona says suspiciously.
"Don't jinx it." Dasha says through the radio.
"Launch in 3... 2... 1...!" Katt shouted through the speaker.
Loona, Dasha, Krystal, Falco, and I launched out of the hangar and we headed to our destination.
We headed close into the asteroid belt around Europa to find the SDF destroyer. It wasn't easy since there were too many asteroids to find one ship around.
"Do you see the ship somewhere?" I asked through the comms.
"It's somewhere around here. I can feel it." Krystal says as she uses her telepathic powers.
"I see it!" Loona shouted through the comms.
We headed to the SDF destroyer, but it's not operational. We were so confused that we noticed that it's not responsive. Krystal noticed that there weren't any SDF personnel inside with her telepathic powers.
"There's no one in the destroyer, they must've abandoned it." Krystal explains.
"Then, let's send a salvage team to get what we can from this ship. Let's head back to retribution." I suggested as we attempted to head back to the Ship.
"Ambush! A few SDF ships are inbound!" Olivia shouted from the comms.
"I knew it! It's a trap!" Loona shouted.
"Then, let's take care of them!" Dasha shouted.
"There is a most wanted ace pilot in the fight. Can you take care of him, Stan?" Falco asked as he shot down a Skelter.
"Yes. I got him." I spoke as I fired at the enemy ace Skelter.
The SDF ace dodges easily as he tries to get behind me in my blind spot. I was locked in his crosshairs but I boosted my thrusters and went a sharp left and evaded his attack. I had the upper hand as I went behind him again and fired, and instantly shot him down. Another most wanted criminal killed off the list.
More SDF Skelters came in the fight, but Krystal and Falco had the advantage to shoot most of the incoming swarm coming into the battle zone. I went to an SDF destroyer and fired many rockets at one side of it. Loona did the finishing blow as she shot one of the back engines which caused the destroyer to instantly explode into debris.
"Hell yeah!" Dasha shouted.
"Just one more destroyer. You got a chance to destroy it, Olivia?" I asked.
"Copy! Get Clear!" Olivia shouted as she fired the main rail gun from Retribution which instantly damaged the last SDF destroyer.
"Skies clear!" I said as we attempted to head back.
"Wait!. He's coming." Krystal says with fear.
"Who?" Falco asked while confused.
"Star Dream." Krystal answers.
Just then, Star Dream appears with Johnny Opin, Salen's son, who is in the cockpit.
"You don't know when to quit, do you, Captain Stan? Well, my friend Star Dream will take care of you and Retribution!" Johnny shouted from the comms and controlled Star Dream at us.
I dodged fast as Star Dream started firing rockets at us and Loona decided to attack him first by shooting a rocket at it which hardly does any damage. Star Dream flaps its wings and sends powerful waves which cause huge tremor to our ships.
"How are we going to destroy this thing?" Falco asked.
"I'm thinking!" I shouted as I kept firing at the hull which didn't make a good dent.
"I got it! Olivia, fire an EMP rocket!" I commanded.
"Copy! Get clear from the blast radius!" Olivia shouted as she fired an EMP at Star Dream.
Star dream started to malfunction as it temporarily started to lose power.
"God dammit! Work!" Johnny shouted as he struggled to control Star Dream.
"Fire as many rockets as possible, and Olivia, fire the main railgun once more!" I commanded.
"Yes Stan." Olivia says as she fires up Retribution's railguns.
We all kept shooting rockets at Star Dream while it was vulnerable. Its hull starts to get damaged a little and Retribution fires, but misses as Star Dream jumps into slip space to retreat.
"Damn it! We almost had it!" Falco shouted with rage.
"Don't worry Falco. We will get Johnny and his weapon next time. Let's just head back to Retribution." I said as I landed back into the hangar.
Soon, Star Dream will be destroyed from doing any severe damage to our plans to win this war.
