“Can we go out?”
“These are for you.”
“I want to spent time with you in Okinawa, (L/n)-chan.”
“Date me, (L/n)-chan.”
It was lunch break. Kuronuma, Ayane and (Y/n) stood by the door in shock for it was swarming of boys who were there for none other than (Y/n). The trip to Okinawa was in less than aweek so almost everyone is using it as an opportunity to make a romantic relationship with someone. It's honestly sickening how the campus has been filled with couples since last week. Is it a new norm?
A long with that, (Y/n) suddenly got famous. Well, she already was. She's smart, she's pretty, she's very demure and mindful as well as the fact she's a foreigner too. Who wouldn't want to date her?
“Geez this guys. You're scaring here. Go away or... something. We just want to get some lunch.” Ayane spoke in an annoyed tone. But again, it was no used because the men only persistent to talk to her, handing her chocolates, letters and some papers with their number on it. There was also a cat offering if I wasn't mistaken.
“Uhm.... please can we....pass?” Kuronuma added. She's not one to talk for herself or for anyone at a huge crowd.
Suddenly, (Y/n) softly gasped. One guy took her wrist. Ayane and Kuronuma got desperate to take it off. At that point, I knew I had to do something. I got up from my table and made my way towards the front door. I don't like the fact someone is touching her without her permission. They act like wild animals cornering their prey. As I was about to speak up, someone walked pass me from behind, it was Kento.
He shot a smile as he walked pass the girls, “I got it.” He then adverted his gaze towards to the crowd of men to negotiate with them. Eventually the guy took his hand off and left with the others. Kento succeeded.
“Are you okay? Sawako-chan? Ayane?....(Y/n)-chan?”
Did he just call her by her first name casually?
The girl nodded and thanked Kento before he left. I was going to approach (Y/n) again but someone grabbed my hand and stopped me. I looked over my shoulder to see Chizuru.
She was silent and looked frustrated. She kept looking down at the floor as she held my hand tight. As she looked up at me, she tried putting on her usual cheeky smile, “L-let's have lunch together, Ryu.” She stuttered a bit, trying to smile.
“Hm, give me a sec.” I took my hand off hers as I left and ran a bit after the girl in the hallway, “(Y/n).” I called out, slightly panting as I stood in front of the three of them.
“Ryu...” My name softly rolls out of her mouth.
“Did you get hurt?” I asked.
I couldn't look away and it looks like neither can she, “Uhm....no. The guy just grabbed my hand and... that's was it. He apologize before he left.”
I nodded. One of the things that surprises me about her it that she's so calm, collected and forgiving. The men tried to force themselves to her but she held no grudges. Her eyes right now just tells how genuine her words and expressions were.
“I see. Just... watch out and be careful with the other men around the campus. Do you girls need me to come with you?”
(Y/n)'s eyes slightly widen in surprise, “You don't have to Ryu...you can just enjoy your lunch...We can handle it.” She stuttered. I nodded, trying to not press it any further.
“Speaking of coming, Where's Chizuru?” Ayane spoke.
“She's—” I looked behind me to see Chizuru walking on the other side of the hallway, going to the opposite direction before completely disappearing, “—...Left.”
“Left? Chizuru-chan isn't the type to just leave. She doesn't like to have lunch alone.” Kuronuma added.
I looked over to (Y/n) and I saw her eyes soften and her brows furrowed. I knew she remembered the conversation we had about Chizuru being jealous and I bet she feels guilty about it. Maybe she feels not only is she stealing me from Chizuru but she stealing Ayane and Kuronuma too.
It's petty though. (Y/n) is a new student and she's just trying to make friends. (Y/n) is not stealing anyone, Chizuru just chose to not join the fun and distance herself.
“Were you going to get lunch with her?” Ayane asked. I simply nodded.
“Supposedly but...she left so I guess just let her be. She'll come around eventually.”
The girls nodded. I excused myself telling them that I would be getting lunch with Shota, Joe and the guys so they eventually left to go to the cafeteria. I went back to the classroom where Shota and the guys were.
“Ryu where were you? You missed all the excitement!” Joe bubbled.
I raised a brow, “What do you mean?”
“After you left Chizuru threw a tantrum, yelling she just want a peaceful lunch.” Shota added.
I smirked. If only Chizuru liked (Y/n), they could've gotten along. I could see how (Y/n) want Chi to be her friend. Chizuru is just stubborn, “Let her be, she's just hungry.”
“By the way Ryu, do you have a date for our trip to Okinawa?” Joe asked.
I thought for a moment, “Do I need it?”
“Uh...yes?—”
“No, Joe. These new couples will eventually break up once the trip is over. I don't want to be a part of it.” Joe frown.
“You're gonna grow old, Ryu. Lossen up, hang some fun!”
I rolled my eyes, “I am having fun, Joe. I eat, I sleep, and I play baseball. Fun.” Joe pouted more.
“But seriously, not tinny tiny bit liking anyone? There's a lot of girls at school.” Joe persisted.
“Well—”
“Ryu hesitated! He likes someone!”
For the first time ever, Joe didn't say something stupid.
