One month before the wedding

Paris, November 2024.

The wedding was around the corner, so close that made Alexander a total mess through all those days.

He didn’t want to see anybody, not even Agnes, or Anny or Arthur, no one, he spent the majority of the time locked up in his room, crying like a woebegone. He just wanted to disappear. The omega felt ashamed to look at Arthur, he felt ashamed by how he was and didn’t want Arthur to know the names some members of the elite called him and what they said about him.

Arthur felt like all the steps they made in the relationship were crushed on, he was desperate to know if Ale was okay or if he wanted to see him. Every text the alpha sent him was left on read, all the dates he tried to organize were canceled at last minute, he felt impotent for not being able to do something about it.

Alexander cried everyday, feeling disgusted with himself, he felt used as just some object of decoration or satisfaction, but he felt that all of what he is wasn't worth at all. In weeks he will get married with someone he liked but also was so afraid of, and his father just reaffirmed those thoughts and made him more miserable.

Harcourt just wanted that the relationship were reciprocal and clear, but he couldn’t get that because Alexander didn’t want to open up with him, which made him more anxious about all of the situation, making him wonder if he is really putting effort into it or if all he does isn’t enough.

A week before the wedding, Arthur couldn’t bear anymore the cold attitudes of Alexander, so he went to his house to check up if he was fine. He was greeted by Anastasia, who he never saw in person, they had a small talk about trivial things and, the most important, Alexander. Anastasia told him that the omega hasn't been eating those days, she practically has to force him to eat and not do that hunger strike.

After that quick conversation, Anastasia guided him to Alexander’s room, she left shortly after and Arthur stayed there, quite looking at the closet door.

“Ale?” The alpha said softly while knocking the door. “Ale, are you okay?”

“Do you really expect me to be okay?” Ale responded being bold. “I don’t want this.” He confessed.

“Alexander… Please, don’t make this more difficult than it is.” Arthur pleaded, he sighed and continued talking. “I know this is hard, I understand that you’re upset and angry and all you are feeling now. I am worried about you, the way you have ignored me makes me feel anxious, I want to know why you are like this now… I really want to know.”

“Get out.” The omega said as soon as Arthur finished talking.

“What? Ale, please.” He begged, starting to get more anxious than before. “Alexander, I really want to make this relationship work, I'm being totally honest, I do want this relationship, not because somebody told me or something like that. I, Arthur, really want to be your partner.” Arthur confessed, trying very hard to not get off topic and start to expand, it wasn’t the proper moment to do it.

“Get out! Did you not hear me?! Get out of my house! I don’t want you!” Alexander shouted, totally annoyed. “I don’t want you! I don’t want this! I never asked for this! I don’t want to see you!” He screamed, starting to get panicked.

Harcourt was really shocked by this, he didn’t expect this reaction, nor all the things Brienne said to him, it felt like a stab in the chest hearing that, that he didn’t want him, it was painful, to say the least. He was silent for several seconds, not being able to talk, he hitted his limit with that. Arthur turned around and started walking to the main entrance, crossing paths with Anastasia.

“You’re leaving so soon? Did something happen?” The woman asked, concerned by the face of Arthur and the bitter his scent got.

“I need to go.” Was the only thing Arthur said to her.

He got out of the house and drove as fast as he could to his house. Everything started to feel too much, his car was making him uncomfortable, his clothes as well, the sound of the other cars, the atmosphere, everything, his face got red and he started to feel really hot, but in a really bad way, he felt suffocated. He got overstimulated by Alexander’s reaction and shouting.

It was definitely going to be a very chaotic and hard previous week.
