From whence comes the purpose of a person's life. Cometh by chance, a casting of the lot? Or does a call of destiny beckon to each of us? - One Night with The King
Many in the galaxy have wondered about the prophecy of the Chosen Ones and why a simple slave boy from Tatooine and the princess of Aargonar were chosen to stand against the tyranny of the Sith and yet the mystery of the boy known as Anakin Skywalker and the girl known as Elíriel Lasteele begins not where one might think, but thousands of years earlier with single act of betrayal.
The Jedi Order was formed by the Prime Jedi, the first individual to ever utilize the Force in its presented prospects. As its founder, he created the first Jedi Temple on the planet Ahch-To.
The Jedi were trained in the ways of the light side, utilizing the force in the manner of harmony, balance, and peace.
One member of the Order had begun studying the forbidden teachings of the Dark Side of the Force. He developed a belief that tapping into power brought in the true potential of a Jedi. He became opposed to embracing the passivity of the light, believing that it held the Jedi back from accepting their true nature. As a result, the Jedi High Council banished him to preserve the beliefs of the light side.
Angered by their actions, the fallen Jedi gathered many followers and formulated the Order of the Sith. The Sith sought after power and dominion over the galaxy, becoming ancient and mortal enemies of the Jedi Order.
Wars between the Jedi and the Sith had raged for many millennia. Neither side gave in, but continuously fought for domination.
By 1032 BBY, the Jedi-Sith War drew to an end with the Jedi Order and Republic forces victorious, bringing about the liberation of Coruscant and the Jedi Temple. The Sith's greed and desire for power led to infighting among their ranks, resulting in their near-extinction and defeat by the Jedi.
Darth Bane, the last survivor of the Sith, formulated a plot to destroy the Jedi and the Republic from within to prepare for the rebirth of Sith's rule over the galaxy. To ensure absolute, unchallenged power, he established the Rule of Two, a lineage of Sith who would operate in the shadows, preserving the Sith's vendetta against the Jedi and passing along the dark, ancient teachings. In the dark, they thrived, poised for the moment that the era of peace would blind the galaxy.
No one quite knows when the prophecy of the Chosen Ones was made, but it was long before the wars between the Jedi and the Sith around 11,958 BBY or earlier.
A vision of the future seen by an ancient Jedi mystic and recorded on an ancient Jedi Holocron. It foretold that the Chosen Ones would become the strongest Force sensitives in the galaxy, rivaling the most legendary champions of the Jedi, and restore balance to the Force through the ultimate destruction of the Sith.
Long had there been misconceptions and arguments over the consensus of the balance in the Force. Some thought that the dark and the light had to be equal in order to create balance, while others believed that the light could be the Force in its natural state, making the dark side the cause of imbalance. Neither side could come to an agreement. Many Jedi left the Order in pursuit of their own paths to become the idealistic form of a Jedi. Some fell to the dark side and others gave up on their Force abilities entirely, preferring a simple life.
The prophecy dictated many paths before the Chosen Ones.
This legend tells of a slave, molded into a hero, fallen to the dark and a princess who clung to the nature of the light.
A love doomed to tragedy.
A massive deception set to unleash upon the galaxy.
The power of the Unknown, unlimited, unchallenged, unyielding.
Rumors creeping in the shadows of the Galactic protectors.
The relentless dark shall consume the light and the scale will shift.
