Gold walked back to Azalea Town and decided to go to Goldenrod City he just felt sad about how Silver had just left...I mean he just LEFT! But Gold tried to put that behind him. But he wasn't fully successful. When he got to Goldenrod City he saw Silver by the Pokémon center, he looked down at his shoes and tried to avoid him. But he was sadly unable to. Without even thinking he let out a sigh followed by a "hi Silver....." Silver didn't answer and they both walked away.

Gold got a text from professor Elm which said "I see that you are in Goldenrod City, and I need something from near there. It's a mystery egg you will find it in Mr. Pokémon's house, on route 30 near Cherrygrove City." Gold thought that would be a good way to get Silver off his mind, so he went back to route 30 to visit Mr. Pokémon.

He had a few battles on the way but other then that he made it there perfectly fine. (By the way this part is partly based on what happens in the let's go games because I haven't played Gen 2. Anyways back to the story) He entered Mr. Pokémon's house and only found a male Nidoran, that talked? The Nidoran said "Please help me turn back into a human! I've been stuck as a pokemon for a day. All I need you to do is open the door to that machine and pull the lever." He points with his now paw, at a machine with a lever nearby it. Gold is a kind soul so he open the door and Mr. Pokémon got in, he closed and pulled the lever. Soon enough a man with short brown hair stepped out, Gold assumed this was Mr. Pokémon. "Thank you good man. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Ummm...OH! Right I need the mystery egg."

"Oh that's easy. May I ask why?"

"Professor Elm needs it."

"Oh. I wonder why he didn't just come here himself? what am I even thinking he's too clumsy." "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Ummm....no" Gold lied.

"Are you sure?"

"Fine. I'm having........boy problems" gold looked away at the admitted how he felt about silver.

"Oh I think I have someone to help with that. Let me make a call." Gold was confused but didn't interrupt as Mr. Pokémon dialed a number and said "Yes....Hello...I have someone here with boy problems" before Mr. Pokemon explained what he needed the other person on the line to do a girl with light brown pigtails swung open the door. The door went bashing into the wall and made a loud sound. (BTW all variations of Rikir are the female protagonists from the respective games it's just whenever I play them I name them Rikir for some reason. if you want a more detailed explanation for what Riker is let me know in the comments)

"Hello there." Said the young girl, she was about the same age as Gold but still.

Gold jumped when he noticed her "W-Who are you?"

"I'm Rikir. I'm a new trainer and if you become my rival then I will help you with your boy troubles."

"Really!?"

"Why of course. And all you have to do is shake my hand and become my rival." Gold hesitated slightly before shaking her hand in agreement.
