He and I. We were the complete opposite. But as they say, opposites attract...
It is the last race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and as always, I'm here to support my brother through all his journey. This year was completely shit. Of course, Max won the championship again while my brother had to go through months and months of shitty race strategies and bad results while trying to keep up with all the expectations. He is 'il Predestinato,' he should be the one holding the trophy, the one who has it all, but that had been stolen from him by our mortal enemy.
Even though this season wasn't the best, I'll always cheer for Charles at every race, no matter the results. For me, he's the rightful champion and the one that owns my heart. It's not up for debate.
The Yas Marina Circuit isn't too distant from the hotel we're staying at, so it shouldn't take long to get there. I can take my sweet little time getting ready for the last GP of the year with my adorable best friend, Camille Bianchi. She has been my friend for as long as I can remember, my one and only childhood friend, along with her deceased brother. Not a day passes where I don't think of him hoping he will come back to us. All my family profoundly mourned the loss of Jules, he was a great person and above all an incredible friend and confidant.
While anything could never substitute the void left behind by a person, Camille and I were lucky to have each other, because that helped us to overcome one of the most difficult and destroying moments of our life. We went through hell and back together, holding our hands through every struggle, giving us the power to come back stronger than before.
But enough of talking about this depressing stuff, this isn't the moment nor the place for this kind of subject. Today we'll focus exclusively on cheering as loudly as we can for Charles, hoping that he can overtake Verstappen from P2. Camille and I will be watching from the Ferrari garage as guests, so I must make the right clothing choice. Considering that, I opt for a cute light blue sundress with a floral print, matched with a pair of white heels.
I'm not the type of girl too focused on her appearance, I usually just wear clothes that are comfortable for me, but still, I must make a good impression in front of the cameras as Leclerc's sister. I don't like being in the spotlight all the time, it gets really exhausting and annoying, having to monitor continuously how you act, how you dress, who you hang out with, and what you post on socials, solely because I'm a celebrity's sibling. However I've made peace with caring about my public appearance, and eventually I got used to the multiple cameras that follow us everywhere we go and the endless scrutiny of the media to which we are subjected.
When Camille and I are finally ready to go – her, as per usual, dressed better than me – we exit my hotel room and lock the door. As we walk down the corridor, I catch a glimpse of Kika, Pierre's girlfriend, going out of her room.
"Hey Kika, what's up! I didn't know you were staying at this hotel too," I greet her, excitedly.
She turns her head towards me, surprised to see me standing here, and, while putting away the keycard in her Louis Vuitton handbag, she says, "Hi Juliette, oh what a coincidence! Are you also heading to the circuit?"
She wraps her arms around my shoulders, going for a hug, and then she leans in to kiss me on the cheek.
In the meantime, Camille answers her question, "Yes, we were about to call a cab. Wanna come with us?"Kika proceeds to embrace her too and agrees on going to our destination together. We take the elevator, to save time, given that we are kind of late. I totally wasn't expecting this casual encounter, though I'm glad that I get to spend more time with Kika. She's an adorable person and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better, even because she's going to be around a lot since she's Pierre's girlfriend and he's my brother's best friend and a good friend of mine.
