Spencer sat at the Country Club's bar, drinking his fifth martini—he thought it was taboo drinking at 11 in the morning, but it was summer and he was determined to make the best of it. Even if it meant drinking at 11 am.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, he internally groaned, grabbing it out of his pocket as he looked at the screen—it was his little sister, Sienna. He answered the call, putting his phone to his ear, "Yes, Sienna, what's the problem?" He asked, trying his best not to sound annoyed, but failing.

"Can you please help me with this stupid algebra homework? If I don't pass summer school, Mom will have my ass. Please, you're the smartest person I know." Sienna said.

Sienna was right, Spencer was the smartest person she knew. He was an excellent student, and he had straight A's his whole life. Sienna on the other hand, she cared more about becoming Tiktok famous than she did about school.

Spencer rubbed his hand over his face, downing the rest of his martini. "I'll be there in twenty minutes, alright? Love you." He said before hanging up.

Well, there goes his plans for day drinking. He sighed, grabbing money out of his wallet and placing it on the counter. He got up from the stool, putting on his sunglasses to tame the sun from his senstive eyes. He knew he was going to be drinking, so he didn't bother driving, although it helped that he lived close by.

As he started making his way to the exit, he saw Rafe Cameron coming in with his arm candy for the time being, Spencer knew her name was Sofia because of course he had to keep tabs on his nemesis.

Spencer lowered his sunglasses, watching as they walked up the steps towards him arm in arm. Rafe smirked once he noticed Spencer, who he didn't know was back in town from college. Spencer went to Yale, which was in Connecticut, he wanted to get as far away from Outer Banks as possible.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Spencer Fisher, Outer Banks' finest kiss ass." Rafe taunts and stops walking once he gets close to him. "Didn't know you were back in town, buddy. How's college life—wait, I don't care." He added, walking closer to him and patting his shoulder.

Spencer rolled his eyes, pulling his sunglasses back up his nose, "Well it is summer. Don't be salty about it because you flunked out of college and spend all your money partying—I mean on coke." He said with a menace smile. Rafe's face dropped, he forgot how much Spencer pissed him off, and how sassy he was.

Rafe laughed it off, pulling Sofia closer to him, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "Have you met my girlfriend yet? Sofia this is Spencer Fisher, the mayor's son. Spencer, this is my lovely girlfriend, Sofia." Rafe says, completely changing the subject. Sofia stuck her hand out to shake Spencer's hand.

"Didn't know you dated Pouges, Cameron. My condolences for you, Sofia, your boyfriend is a real prick." He said, placing his hand in hers as she shakes his hand.

"It's an honor to meet you, Spencer. I admire your father, he's done a lot for our side of town while he's been in office." Sofia says politely, but Spencer saw right through her.

"Well, hate to end this conversation, but I have to go, my sister is in need of my assistance. Nice to meet you, Sofia." Spencer says, smiling politely at her.

Spencer starts walking down the steps, but Rafe grabs him by the collar of his shirt. "As much as I hate you, I can smell the vodka on your breath. I don't see your car in the parking lot, you're in no position to drive or walk—let me drive you home."
