Dreams are weird. How do we dream? How does our mind, well, in my case my central processing unit, put a memory or an incoherent string of random thoughts and ideas into our unconsciousness? Dreams are weird. I'll say it again, because they are. They're funky.
"So, what do ya think of this one, girl?" Tessa stepped back, admiring her work on my head.
I gingerly touched the soft black locks Tessa had neatly fit on my head. Where she got the hair, I have no clue. This was probably the thousandth wig Tessa's made me try on, but I hardly mind. She's insistent on helping me find the "perfect" hair.
"It's nice, Miss Elliot."
"Ya really like it? Like, really? If ya don't like it, we can try another! I'm sure I can dig something up..."
"No, Miss Elliot. Really, this is nice. I like the length." I smiled as genuinely as my visor could show, a gentle smile on my lips.
"Yay!!" Tessa jumped up and down, clapping her hands in enthusiasm, grinning wildly. "And I told'ya, ya don't have to call me that. Just call me Tessa, ya goob."
"Okay, Miss Tessa."
The teenager giggled at me. For what, I was unsure.
"Shouldn't you get ready for the gala tonight, Miss Tessa?"
Tessa checked her pink watch on her wrist. "We still have a while before we need to be downstairs. It's only—Crikey! 5PM! I've gotta get chuckin'!" I watched as the worried girl tripped and stumbled across her room, frantically grabbing a black dress, fixing her hair, finding a bow to match her dress, multiple things in preparation for the major event happening later this evening.
"Would you like me to tie your dress, Miss Tessa?"
"That would be great, thank ya, Sierra. You're amazin."
"Happy to be of service, Miss Tessa."

[T-MINUS ONE MILLISECOND.]
...
"S? S, where the hell are you?!" What a rude awakening.
"Here, J." I responded, quickly dropping from the lamp-post I was sleeping from, waking across the frozen city to the familiarly curt voice of my commander.
"Ugh, I just sent V and N after you. Where have you been? You were expected here twenty-three hours, forty-one minutes, and twenty seconds ago." J crossed her arms, looking to me for an explanation. I didn't return the look, my gaze towards the ground.
"I've been out. Hunting."
"Uh huh. And how many workers did you kill yesterday? We need this planet wiped of them within a week."
"Two-hundred-thirteen, ma'am."
J's eyes widened. "Two-hundred—how?"
"I wiped a colony, ma'am. The one on the west side of the planet. I was able to enter their base and disassemble them when they were unconscious. They sleep during the night. Their base was relatively unguarded and unprotected, it was not difficult."
"Yes— well— I'm impressed, stud! Nicely done. And no need to call me ma'am. We're business partners, somewhat equals. I will always be better than you, but you're a close second. Stick with me and we'll be the top cadets of this quarter for sure!" J grinned, patting my back rather aggressively.
"Thank you, J."
"Yup. Now, we'd better get those two incompetent idiots back here before sunrise. We only have two hours. I'm sure that won't be a problem for either of us, they couldn't have gotten far. We'll cover more ground separated, you take the east side of the planet, I'll take the west, find V. The moron's mine for the punishing." J smirked, a sickening laugh erupting from her throat. "Catch'ya on the flip side." J saluted me with her right hand before taking to the sky, flying west, leaving me to my lonesome.
"S! There you are!" V. Guess I didn't have to look far.
"Hey, V." I smiled gently upon seeing my associate, my friend.
V landed beside me, snow flying around her as she landed ever so gracefully. I really don't know how she does things so flawlessly. I'd say she's way more impressive than J, but never in front of J. She'd shoot me directly in the core."Where've you been? J's looking for you. She just sent N and I out for you."
"I wiped the west colony. Sorry for not telling you." I looked away sheepishly, rubbing my arm.
"You— what? Robo-Jesus, the entire colony? How?" V walked up to me, gazing at me with curiosity.
"They were unconscious. They sleep at night. Their colony was practically left unguarded and unprotected, it wasn't hard breaking in. I'm honestly surprised they were so understaffed last night."
"Wow, S. Nice work! Ya save me anything?" V smirked, running a finger down my chin, tilting her head to the side. Cute. I forced the small blush from my visor.
"Maybe..."
"S, you sly dog! I knew it! Where? Where?!" V jumped up and down excitedly, tail wagging slightly. I was one of the lucky drones that got to see this side of V. She's never this enthusiastic around anyone besides me. We've been close since we were manufactured so I guess it makes sense.
I couldn't help but smile. "Follow me."
