It's late at night, you are in your bathroom getting ready for bed. Your boyfriend Nicholas is working late tonight for his new film, Grotesquerie.
He left this morning at 8:00 AM and it's currently almost midnight. You know he is gonna be tired as soon as he gets home so you lay out sweatpants for him to sleep in.
You walk to the living room and sit on the couch as you wait for Nicholas to arrive. As you are waiting you watch TV. You have had a very busy day yourself so you are tired but you know it would mean a lot to Nicholas if he got to talk to you as soon as he walked in. He loved when he would open the door and the first thing he saw was you.
As you are watching TV you look around at your apartment and realize that you never had time to clean. Nicholas is a clean freak and you know how much he likes a clean living space. You think if you should clean but you are just so tired. You decide to clean the apartment tomorrow.
*10 minutes later (12:07 AM)*
Your eyes make their way to the door as you hear the door knob squeak as the door opens. You see a not so happy Nicholas. In fact, he looks really mad.
You get off the couch and go to greet your boyfriend.
"Hey baby. How was your day?" you say giving him a hug.
He hugs you back but it's not the usual loving hugs he gives it's more like i'm only hugging you because you hugged me type of hug.
He doesn't answer your question and puts his keys on the table and sets his stuff down on the floor. He looks at you and then the apartment and then back at you.
"You didn't clean today!?" he ask you sounding annoyed.
"No. I didn't get the chance to. I've been working all day." you say with some attitude.
"Y/N your job is so easy! I don't have time after work to clean especially in these past few weeks." he says.
"My job is easy!? Are you kidding!? I haven't gotten a single break today. I've been on the phone answering calls, responding to emails, and more. The only time I've had time to just breathe today was when I was getting ready for bed and I decided to wait for you to get home. And I don't expect you to clean when your schedule is this busy and you are gone all day and probably tired." you explain to him.
"Okay yeah whatever. And yeah, I am tired. I'm exhausted actually, all I want to do when I get home is lay in bed and sleep. It also helps me sleep at night if the apartment is clean!" he says.
"Hey stop yelling at me. I'm cleaning the apartment tomorrow! Don't worry, just worry about your scenes tomorrow." you say.
"I'm not yelling! I'm just talking loudly." Nicholas says.
"THATS THE DEFINITION OF YELLING!" you say now getting loud.
"You want me to yell!? Cause I can!? I have been holding in screams all day. I've had a shitty day and you didn't even bother to ask!?" he says.
"No I don't want you to yell, Nick and I did ask you how your day was right when you got home! You ignored me and sat your stuff down instead." you say.
"Well my day was shitty!" Nicholas says.
"I can tell." you say.
"Excuse me?" he ask.
"I can tell you've had a bad day by your tone." you say.
"Y/N, I cannot deal with your attitude right now!" he says.
"Stop yelling at me! Go to sleep, you need to calm down! Look, I'm sorry you had a shitty long day but you don't have to take your anger out on me!" you say.
"FUCK! Y/N! I'm not taking my anger out you!" he says making you jump as his voice got louder.
"YOU JUST DID!" you tell him.
"I can't deal with you right now!" he says.
"I'm not the one causing a fight." you say.
"This fight would've never happened if you would've just cleaned!" he says.
"OH MY GOSH! Didn't you listen to a word I said earlier!? I have been busy ALL DAMN DAY! I didn't have time! I will be cleaning tomorrow." you say.
"Whatever. I'm tired I'm going to bed."
"Good cause it was my idea for you to go to bed in the first place!" you say.
"Okay yeah sure." he says.
"You really piss me off!" you say.
"How!?" he ask.
"Nick I waited up for you to get home because I know how much it means to you to see me. I thought even if you were in a bad mood seeing me would relieve some of that annoyance but clearly I was wrong, I just made it worse." you say.
Nick is silent for a moment.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I'm just tired and I know that is no excuse for my behavior. I just need to practice on controlling my temper. I love you and everything you do." Nicholas says apologizing.
"Thank you for apologizing and I love you too but please don't take your anger out on me." you say.
"I promise. I won't anymore. Now, let's go to bed." he says kissing my forehead.
"Okay right behind you." he says as you interlock your fingers as you follow behind him, leading the way to the bedroom.
"I laid you out a pair of sweatpants." you say.
"Thank you baby." he says with a smile.
"You're welcome." you say smiling.
He changes as you get in bed.
He goes to brush his teeth and then gets in bed with you.
"Baby I'm sorry again for losing my cool." he says.
"I forgive you baby. Now let's get some sleep, we've both have had a long day." you say cuddling up next to him. Your head rested on his chest as his arm is wrapped around you.
"Goodnight." he says lifting your head to kiss you.
"Goodnight my love." you say kissing him back and then going to lay your head back on his chest as you both close your eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.
