After breakfast, Yun Shik and Kivishan cleaned up the table together. Yun Shik couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as he watched his younger brother carefully place the dishes in the sink.
Yun Shik: (Smiling) You're getting better at this, Kivishan. Keep it up!
Kivishan: (Beaming) Thanks, hyung! I want to help more.
Yun Shik: That's the spirit. Now, let's get ready for school.
As they prepared for school, Yun Shik noticed Kivishan struggling with his shoelaces. He knelt down beside him.
Yun Shik: Here, let me show you again. (Gently guides Kivishan's hands) Loop it around like this, then pull it through.
Kivishan: (Concentrating) Like this?
Yun Shik: Exactly. Now, pull it tight. See, you did it!
Kivishan: (Excitedly) I did it, hyung!
Yun Shik: (Ruffling Kivishan's hair) Great job. You're learning so fast.
Just then, their dad walked into the room. He looked at Yun Shik with a stern expression.
Dad: Yun Shik, a word.
Yun Shik: (Nervously) Yes, Dad?
Dad: (Firmly) I heard you raised your voice at Kivishan this morning. You know better than that.
Yun Shik: (Lowering his head) I'm sorry, Dad. I was just trying to help him learn.
Dad: (Sighing) I understand, but you must be patient. Remember how hard it was for you at his age.
Yun Shik: (Nodding) Yes, Dad. I'll try to be more patient.
Dad: Good. Now, both of you, come here.
Yun Shik and Kivishan approached their dad, who knelt down to their level.
Dad: (Gently) Kivishan, your brother is trying to help you. You need to listen to him and try your best, okay?
Kivishan: (Sniffling) Okay, Dad. I'll try harder.
Dad: (Hugging both boys) That's my boys. Remember, we're a family, and we support each other. Yun Shik, you're doing a good job. Just be patient.
Yun Shik: (Hugging back) Thanks, Dad. I'll do my best.
Kivishan: (Smiling) Me too!
Dad: (Smiling) That's what I like to hear. Now, let's get you both to school.
As they walked to school, Yun Shik held Kivishan's hand, feeling a renewed sense of responsibility and love for his younger brother. He knew that teaching Kivishan would take time and patience, but he was ready for the challenge.
Later that day, while Yun Shik was at school, he received an urgent call from home. His heart raced as he listened to the voice on the other end.
Voice: Yun Shik, it's Dad. Kivishan had an accident at home. He's okay, but he's shaken up. You need to come home right away.
Yun Shik: (Panicking) What happened? Is he hurt?
Voice: He's fine, just a little scared. Hurry home.
Yun Shik rushed home as fast as he could. When he arrived, he found Kivishan sitting on the couch, his eyes red from crying. Their dad was kneeling in front of him, holding his hands.
Dad: (Looking up at Yun Shik) He's okay, just a bit shaken. He fell while trying to reach something on a high shelf.
Yun Shik: (Kneeling beside Kivishan) Kivishan, are you alright?
Kivishan: (Sniffling) I was trying to get the toy you gave me, hyung. I wanted to play with it.
Yun Shik: (Hugging Kivishan tightly) I'm so sorry, Kivishan. I should have put it somewhere safer.
Dad: (Sighing) This is a lesson for all of us. We need to be more careful and look out for each other.
Yun Shik: (Nodding) Yes, Dad. I'll make sure to keep things within reach for Kivishan from now on.
Dad: (Firmly) And Kivishan, you know better than to climb on things. You could have gotten seriously hurt. As a punishment, no TV for a week.
Kivishan: (Tears welling up) I'm sorry, Dad. I won't do it again.
Dad: (Gently) I know you won't. This is to help you remember to be safe. Now, let's all calm down and take care of each other.
Yun Shik: (Hugging Kivishan) It's okay, Kivishan. We'll find other fun things to do together.
Kivishan: (Nodding) Okay, hyung.
Dad: (Hugging both boys) It's alright. We're a family, and we learn from our mistakes together.
This incident brought the family closer, teaching them the importance of patience, care, and looking out for one another. Yun Shik realized that being a good brother meant more than just teaching; it meant being there for Kivishan in every way possible.
