Scarlet sprinted ahead, dodging chunks of debris as he glanced back at Nyx, who was struggling to keep up. "Enough talking! We don't have time for chit-chat!" Scarlet yelled as he jumped onto a nearby building, using his grappling hook to swing toward the rock monster.
Nyx, huffing from the chase, barely avoided a flying boulder. "So, do you have a plan or are we winging it?" he asked, leaping after him.
"I don't know! It's my first time!" Scarlet shouted, gripping the ledge awkwardly and almost losing his balance. His red-and-black suit shimmered under the chaos, but his inexperience was clear.
Nyx grinned, swinging to a halt beside him. "So... we're winging it. Got it. We're definitely going to die," he added, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
Scarlet glared, "DO YOU EVER SHUT UP?!"
The ground rumbled beneath them as the giant rock monster roared, slamming its fist into the ground. The force sent both heroes tumbling to the side, crashing into each other mid-air. They landed in a tangled heap.
Nyx groaned, rubbing his head. "Nice of you to cushion my fall," he muttered, glancing at Scarlet beneath him.
"Get off me!" Scarlet snapped, pushing Nyx aside as they quickly scrambled back to their feet.
Somewhere
"Master, are you sure they're ready? They're getting... well, pummeled," Sass said, watching the chaos unfold on the screen, his tail twitching nervously.
The Master smiled, not taking his eyes off the screen. "It's their first time. They'll make mistakes. That's how they learn."
Wayzz chimed in, "Maybe we should nudge them in the right direction?"
The Master chuckled softly. "Patience, Wayzz. They'll figure it out. It's all part of the journey."
Back to the Battle
The rock monster bellowed, slamming its fists into the pavement. "INSIGNIFICANT HEROES! YOU'RE NO MATCH FOR ME!" its voice boomed through the city streets, sending windows shattering.
Nyx dodged another incoming punch, barely avoiding getting squished. "Well, he's not wrong. We're kind of flailing out here!" he shouted to Scarlet.
Scarlet wiped the dust from his suit, glaring at Nyx. "Focus! We need to figure out where the akuma is hidden."
"Yeah, great plan!" Nyx retorted, eyes wide as another chunk of rock flew their way. "Any idea where it might be?"
Before Scarlet could answer, the mysterious voice from earlier returned, whispering in their ears. "Break the object where you think the akuma is hiding."
Scarlet paused, blinking. "Wait, did you hear that?"
Nyx nodded, but before he could say anything else, the monster's fist came crashing down again, sending both heroes flying in opposite directions. Nyx crashed into a lamppost with a loud thud, while Scarlet barely avoided smashing into a parked car.
"Ouch... okay, no more surprises, please!" Nyx groaned, rubbing his back.
Scarlet picked himself up, stumbling a bit. He spotted something odd—a glowing rock on the creature's back. "Wait a minute... Nyx! I think I found it!" he shouted, pointing.
Nyx, still wincing from his collision with the lamppost, squinted up at the monster. "You think?"
"I'm not sure, but it's glowing! That's got to be it!" Scarlet yelled, gripping his yo-yo tightly.
Without a second thought, Scarlet leapt onto the nearest building and swung towards the creature. He aimed for the glowing rock, hoping he was right.
Nyx was still trying to recover when he saw Scarlet swinging toward the rock monster like a wrecking ball. "Uh, is this part of the plan?" he muttered to himself.
He quickly shot out his claws, trying to assist by grabbing the monster's arm. Unfortunately, he misjudged his aim and ended up dangling awkwardly from its elbow. "Okay, maybe not part of the plan."
Scarlet, meanwhile, was still airborne, heading straight for the creature's back. He reached out, ready to strike.
Just as Scarlet was about to hit the glowing rock, the monster twisted unexpectedly. Scarlet missed his target and crashed directly into Nyx, sending them both spinning and falling to the ground again.
"Nice flying," Nyx groaned as they hit the ground in a heap once more.
"Shut up! I almost had it!" Scarlet retorted, untangling himself from Nyx.
The rock monster roared again, stomping towards them, but this time, its movements were slower. Weaker.
Nyx blinked. "Wait... did we do something right?"
Scarlet glanced at the creature, noticing the glowing rock was starting to crack. "I think... we did! That hit must've weakened it!"
Realizing they were close, both heroes quickly scrambled to their feet, this time working together. Nyx used his claws to swing around the monster's legs, tripping it up, while Scarlet aimed his yo-yo at the now-cracked glowing rock.
"Take this!" Scarlet shouted, flinging his yo-yo with precision.
The yo-yo smashed into the rock, shattering it. The creature let out one final roar before crumbling into pieces, the akuma released in a swirl of dark energy.
Nyx grinned, out of breath. "Well... that was a disaster."
Scarlet couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah. But we still won, didn't we?"
