Lyrah cable used to dream of freedom, of the blue skies, the white clouds and the greenest of forests that her aunt used to tell her were dangerous

But the truth was that her aunt had been the dangerous one, her aunt had been the one to kill her parents and uncle, her aunt was the one who took people's minds and turned them into mindless zombies

Her aunt was the biggest danger to the human population and only the people of the smoke knew the truth wich made them the enemy in the unknowing's eyes

Lyrah's eyes snapped open as she heard someone aproaching and flickered to the source of the sound''david!''lyrah exclaimed with a smile as she hurried up and towards her bestfriend who greeted her with a hug

Lyrah's eyes fell on a girl next to David she had never seen before making her tense up for a moment before she looked back to David confused

It seemed her lover Croy had been just as confused as he stepped behind lyrah and pulled her into his chest protectively as he eyed David and the new girl, lyrah's tenseness dropped the moment croy's body touched hers as David opened his mouth

''Croy, lyrah this is tally, tally this is Croy and that is our sunshine lyrah''David introduced with a smile making a smile grow onto lyrah's face as she held her hand out to shake

''Hey im lyrah but everyone calls me Lilly, actually everyone calls me a lot of things so you can just call me whatever, can i just say you look absolutely adorable''lyrah ranted before realizing what she was doing and quickly turned silent

Tally chuckled softly unable to hep but think lyrah to be the most beutifull girl she had ever seen as she responded with a smile''it's nice to met you Ly, im tally''

David did not miss croy's in love look as he watched lyrah's smile turn even bigger when she pulled tally into an caring hug before she let go and stepped back into croy's chest once more

Croy's arms were quick to wrap around lyrah as Shay a new smoke member spoke up''tally?'' Shay's words made tally squeal and run towards her so hard they fell onto the ground in a hug

Croy, David and lyrah watched amused as the girls walked away together before lyrah signed and looked towards david''no one ever made it alone dav''

''You did''David pointed out making lyrah only wrap her arms around herself

''I can't go back dav....promise me''lyrah whispered in a tone of desperation making him smile and pull her into a hug

''I wont let you be send back, i promise Lilly'' David promised before walking away making lyrah bite her bottom lip nervously

''Let's hope for his sake he's right''Croy muttered coldly as he watched their bestfriend walk away knowing that he would have burned down the world before they got her

And if they somehow did he would burn down the world and its ashes once more just to get her back

That next morning lyrah sat on croy's back with her chin on his shoulder as his hands rested on her thighs so he could hold her up while David told them the plan''this will be our last burn before we head back. Okay Croy your spotting and ryde your my co-pilot''

Lyrah opened her mouth to protest when David cut in''dont even try Lilly last time we almost crashed because you didnt want to hit a bird''lyrah rolled her eyes as Croy grinned amused

''I still think i did the right thing''lyrah muttered as she watched the bird she had saved sitting on a tree close by

''I'll get started on the preflight check''ryde's girlfriend announced before she walked away

''Ill get some suplies''rude spoke before he ran after his girlfriend making lyrah chuckle amused as Croy softly squeezed her thigh

''What's happening?''tally asked confused as she turned the corner into sight

After an exchanged look Shay responded to tally with the truth''we need to light some fires in the est pass before we head home''

''Wait you set the fires?''tally asked shocked and confused making lyrah hum as David nodded

''Those orchids are toxic, they pull all the nutrientsfrom the soil and destroy everything in their path''David replied to tally

''No those are the clean solution to the oil the rusties used''tally denied making lyrah scoff

''That's what my ant tell everyone, she's a fucking liar''lyrah muttered with a voice full of hatred as she patted croy's hand to let her down

''Your aunt?''tally looked towards lyrah with furrowed brows
