IN THE MORNING

As dawn broke, the soft rays of sunlight streamed through the window of Dunk's house, illuminating the cluttered room. Dunk stirred awake, the remnants of sleep still clinging to him. He glanced around, the absence of his friend Joong striking him immediately.

“Where did he go?” Dunk mumbled, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

Reaching for his phone, he noticed a message blinking on the screen. He unlocked it, heart racing slightly. The message from Joong read: Hey, sorry for leaving without telling you. I’ll be home later. See you at school.

Dunk sighed, relief washing over him, but confusion lingered. “Why did he leave so early?” he muttered, shaking his head.

He could almost picture Joong slipping out quietly, not wanting to wake him. “Classic Joong,” he said to himself, a mix of admiration and irritation in his voice. “Always thoughtful, but so impulsive.”

He tossed his phone aside and swung his legs over the bed, staring out the window at the street as it slowly came to life. “Guess I’ll see him later,” he said aloud, but unease crept in.

Dunk stood in the kitchen, the sun pouring in through the window. “Alright, time to make something for school,” he said, pulling out a sandwich bag.

He grabbed some bread and began spreading peanut butter. “Can’t go to school on an empty stomach,” he murmured, layering jelly on top. “This will have to do.”

He turned to the fridge, searching for something to add. “Maybe an apple? Yeah, that’ll work.”

He closed the bag, feeling satisfied. “Alright, tiffin’s ready. Just hope I don’t have to eat alone.”

AT SCHOOL

As Dunk hurried down the school hallway, he could hear the distant echo of the teacher’s voice filtering through the classroom door. He pushed it open, slipping inside and trying to blend in.

“—and as you all know, the exams are next week,” the teacher continued, her gaze shifting to Dunk. “Nice of you to join us, Dunk.”

“Sorry, Miss!” Dunk replied, a sheepish smile on his face as he took his usual spot next to Milk, who was already scribbling notes.

Milk looked up, a teasing grin on his face. “Late again, huh? What happened this time?”

“Had to make my lunch,” Dunk whispered, trying to focus on the teacher.

As he settled in, Dunk glanced back at Joong, who was already staring at him, a mix of curiosity and amusement in his eyes. Dunk felt a slight flush rise to his cheeks.

“What?” Dunk mouthed, raising an eyebrow.

Joong shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips. “Nothing. Just wondering why you’re always in such a rush.”

The teacher cleared her throat. “We’ll be covering the topics that will be on the exam today, so pay attention.”

Dunk leaned closer to Milk, whispering, “What did I miss?”

“Just the usual panic about studying,” Milk replied, glancing at the board. “You better take notes, or you’ll be lost.”

Dunk sighed, pulling out his notebook. “Great. Just what I need—more pressure.”

The teacher continued, “I expect each of you to prepare thoroughly.

DURING THE LUNCH BREAK

During lunch break, Dunk sat at a table with Milk and First, a tray of food in front of them. The cafeteria buzzed with chatter and laughter dunk brought his tiffin with him as he was broke he didn't had much money to spend on the lunch from cafeteria.

“So, are you ready for the exam?” Milk asked, taking a bite of his sandwich.

Dunk shrugged, pushing his food around. “I guess. I just need to review some notes tonight.”

Don’t stress too much. We’ll study together,” first replied, grinning.

“Deal,” Dunk said, feeling a little more relaxed.

Just then, Joong approached, a bounce in his step. “Hey, Dunk! You’ve got to wait after school for basketball practice. The coach wants to talk to the team.”

Dunk looked up, surprised. “Oh, really? I thought practice was canceled today.”

Joong shook his head. “Nope. He needs to go over some strategies for the upcoming game. We can’t skip it.”

Dunk sighed, glancing at First. “Guess I’ll have to push back my study time.”

Milk chuckled. “Priorities, Dunk. You can study later. Don’t miss practice.”

“Yeah, alright. I’ll be there,” Dunk said, a hint of excitement creeping in. “Thanks for the heads-up, Joong.”

After the school got over dunk waved a goodbye to milk and first. And he headed towards the basketball court joong had already arrived there. Dunk went towards him

AT THE BASKETBALL COURT

The sound of squeaking sneakers and bouncing balls echoed around the basketball court as Dunk spotted Joong stretching by the sideline. He jogged over, feeling the adrenaline of the upcoming practice.

“Hey, Joong!” Dunk called out, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.

“How did you get home this morning? I thought you had your car parked at my place.”

Joong looked up, a casual smile on his face. “I do, but I came to school by taxi. I was low on petrol.”

Dunk raised an eyebrow, surprised. “Really? I didn’t expect that. You didn’t want to fill up first?”

Joong shrugged, adjusting his headband. “I figured I’d just grab a taxi instead. Didn’t want to waste time at the gas station this morning.”

Dunk nodded, feeling a mix of understanding and amusement. “Smart move, I guess. Just don’t make a habit of relying on taxis.”

Joong replied with a laugh. “Next time, I’ll make sure to fuel up before I crash at your place.”

Dunk grinned. “Alright, just don’t let it happen again. We need you ready for practice!”

“Always,” Joong said, clapping Dunk on the shoulder. “Now let’s show them what we’ve got!”

"Why did you left so early today, we might do breakfast together" dunk asked wearing his jersey

"I didn't wanted to disturb you"

"Classic Joong" dunk said with a smirk

“Hey, Dunk,” Joong said, tying his shoelaces. “Why don’t you come over to my place after practice? We can hang out and go over our notes together.”

Dunk looked up, considering the offer. “Sounds good! I could use the extra help with studying.”

“Great! I’ll grab some snacks too. We can make it a study session,” Joong replied, a grin on his face.

"But wait what about your father" dunk says with a panic look

"You know what, my father doesn't know where I live, if he knew it he would have killed me by this time"

"But why should you risk , if we get caught"

"No we won't, my home is at such a place where my father can't come"

"Okay then"dunk said
