In a daring and audacious manner, the intrepid travelers approached the imposing gates of Emerald City. They boldly rang the bell, and the Guardian of the Gates emerged from the porthole, peering out. "Ah, you have returned!" exclaimed the Guardian, his voice filled with curiosity. "But I thought you had ventured to visit the Wicked Witch of the West?" The Scarecrow, with an air of adventure, responded, "Indeed, we paid her a visit." The man, astounded, inquired, "And she allowed you to leave?" The Scarecrow, with a touch of excitement, explained, "She had no choice but to let us go, for she melted away." The man's eyes widened in astonishment. "Melted? Well, that is indeed splendid news!" he exclaimed. "Who was responsible for her demise?" The Lion, with a hint of pride, proclaimed, "It was none other than Dorothy herself." Overwhelmed by the revelation, the man humbly bowed before Dorothy.
"Did she really destroy the Wicked Witch?" The British woman asked.
"Yes, I suppose the witch didn't see it coming." The stubborn man added, as the three of them laughed.
The Guardian led them into his chamber and replaced the emerald-tinted glasses upon their heads. With the gate now open, they ventured into the magnificent Emerald City. Word quickly spread among the inhabitants about Dorothy's heroic act, and they flocked to join the procession towards the Palace of Oz.
The soldier with the distinctive whiskers stood guard at the palace gates, just as before. Unlocking the gates, he escorted the travelers across the landing, while an enthusiastic crowd of Emerald Citians followed closely behind. The soldier instructed the travelers to wait outside the Throne Room as he went to inform the Wizard of their return and the demise of the Wicked Witch.
After a few moments, he returned with the news that the Wizard would grant them an audience immediately. The triumphant quartet followed the valiant soldier as he led them to the entrance of the majestic Throne Room. With eager anticipation, they stepped inside, expecting to witness the Wizard in all his former magnificence. However, much to their astonishment, the room appeared eerily vacant. Suddenly, a commanding voice reverberated from the imposing throne chair, beckoning them to approach. Fearlessly, the travelers strode towards the throne, undeterred. The voice continued to echo, declaring, "I am Oz, the great and powerful! Why have you come seeking me on this day?"
