Author's POV
Life is full of surprises, but she certainly wasn't expecting this. She had come back to the place from where she ran away 7 years ago.
Flashback
"I will not come" she said, rolling her eyes in frustration.
"You have to Tara she's your first cousin what will I say to everyone about why you didn't come" the opposite person said in a convincing tone.
Not again, please.
"You still only care about others" Tara said with a scoff.
"Uhh no no Tara it's not like that beta-"
"Oh please Mom don't start again and don't worry I'll come, so that you don't have to answer anyone about my whereabouts" she interrupted. Tara cut the call, her eyes became red in rage, and then she banged the phone in her hand on the wall.
Taking long sighs, she tried to make herself normal.
No no, I can't have panic attacks.
Sitting on her knees, she leaned against the wall and put her head on her knees.
She sat in that position for a long time. At once a headache arose in her head, she rubbed her forhead with her two shivery fingers, and suddenly an intense surge of pain arose in her head.
Taking the support of the wall with one hand, she held her head with the other hand, Tara came towards the bed while taking small steps. She managed herself with great difficulty. Darkness emerged in front of her eyes, she shut her eyes in pain and fell on the bed.
Present
That was two days before the incident when she spoke to her mother at the request of Ishaal, but then she realized it was her biggest mistake.
She had a panic attack after 6 years.
And now here she is standing at the airport in Pakistan. She quickly shut her eyes, having past flashbacks that still haunt her.
She wore a light blue T-shirt and navy blue dress pants. She tied her hair in a ponytail. Her face was expressionless, wearing sunglasses she looked pissed off.
"Ma'am, shall we go" Jinal's voice got her back from her thoughts. She hummed in response and wandered towards the car.
After an hour's journey, the car stopped in front of a luxurious palace, the spacious building described the magnificence of the palace.
Tara removed her sunglasses, glanced at the palace, and headed towards the door. Guards Bow their heads after looking at her.
Tara headed towards the lounge where everyone was present.
"Oh look who's here" Rohma Sultan said in an endearing tone with a smile on her face. Of course, it's a fake one. Tara rolled her eyes.
"Didi, why is she here? I don't want any problem at my daughter's wedding" her aunt said glaring at her angrily.
Tara removed her sunglasses and coat. She walked towards the single sofa and sat, putting her right leg on her left she glimpsed at them who were looking at her like she was some ghost.
"Beth jayen, apna hi ghar samjhen" she said with a smirk. Rohma looks at her with wide eyes, astonished by her act.
(Sit down, consider it as your own house)
"How dare you come here" Raeesa yelled at her.
"Should I ask someone's permission to come to my own palace?" she asked in a calm tone.
"Yeh kiya tareqa hai apni khala se baat karne ka, maafi mango" Rohma said in anger.
(What a manner to talk to your aunt, Apologies to her)
"Maafi woh bhi inse? Shukar manaye k inhen yahan rehne ki ijazat di hui hai Maine." She got up from the sofa and approached them. Looking at them she said firmly.
(Apologies, that too her? Be thankful that I have allowed them to stay here)
"Yeh ghar mera hai, kisi k baap ka ghar nahi hai Jo apni manmani karega. Aur haan ainda mujh par awaz uthane se pehle hazar baar soch liye ga, main ab woh 15 saal wali Tara nahi hun" Tara turned towards Raeesa and said in a stern voice. Raeesa gulped in fear looking at her aura.
( This palace is mine, not someone's father who will follow his own will. And yes, think a thousand times before raising your voice at me. I'm not that 15-year-old Tara anymore)
Tara glanced at her mom and aunt and stepped out of the lounge.
_______________________________
She was lying on her bed and working on her laptop when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in" she said without looking.
"So you're finally here" She looked up at the voice.
"Yeah, just for your wedding" Tara said working on her laptop.
Haniya sat on the bed and examined her. She had changed so much, her features, her short hair, there was a time when her hair was long till her knees but after that tragic incident, Tara never let them grow again. Hairs hold memories so she cut them off.
"What are you looking at?" she asked raising her eyebrow.
"Nothing just looking at you. You have changed so much" she said with a mere whisper.
"Waqt k sath sath sab kuch badal jata hai" Tara said looking into her eyes. There was something in her eyes. Guilt, Tara sighed while standing up.
(Everything changes with time)
"You don't have to feel guilty anymore Haniya" she said in a calm tone.
"You forgave me?" Haniya asked with hope.
"Yes I did"
"Then why you didn't call me Hani?" she asked in a damp voice.
"Because I forgave you but, I didn't forget anything nor can I, so don't expect that lovey-dovey relationship from me now" she said in a cold voice. Haniya looked at her back with teary eyes. She so wants to hug her but she ruins everything.
She nodded and walked out of the room. Tara looks at her disappearing figure, she tightly closes her eyes and takes a long breath.
Picked up the phone she checked some mail while walking out of the room. Heading towards the kitchen, there was a night bulb on, opened the fridge Tara took the water bottle, and stayed still when she felt someone presence behind her.
