Why didst thou leave?

Why must thou go?

Stay with me as thou used to.

I do not want to be alone.

Sky, clouds, rain, sun.

I'd cross the world for thee.

Wouldst thou do the same?

Deserts, rivers, mountains, plains.

I see thee in the night sky.

Where dost thou see me?

Sky, darkness, stars, moon.

I choose thee again and again.

Dost thou choose me?

I wrote this poem after being inspired by the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie. If you haven't delved into it yet, I wholeheartedly urge you to do so. The trilogy is enthralling and thought-provoking, and it's bound to make a lasting impact.
