Gyomei sighed as he walked down the street on his way home. He had been out drinking with his teacher colleagues and while he wasn't drunk like many of his friends were, he still was a little tipsy. He could tell that the sun had already set based on the smell of Fall night, but he didn't mind the darkness.
As he was walking, his ears picked up a conversation happening somewhere close by. At first, he was going to ignore it, but something caught his interest.
"Hey there beautiful!"
"Are you alone?"
"On a night like this?"
Three men who were talking to someone. Gyomei stopped to listen and that's when he heard your meek little voice, "P- Please, leave me be..."
"What, you waiting for someone?"
"We can keep you company until your boyfriend comes!"
"Yeah, and if he doesn't come then maybe we could hang out together?"
"I- I-!" You sounded so distressed, Gyomei couldn't help but frown and walk towards you and your voice.
"Darling, there you are." He said as he walked to you. You blinked, stunned as you looked at the huge man and so did the three men pestering you. The men frowned as they looked him up and down, "Who are you?"
"Darling, is everything alright?" Gyomei placed his hand on your shoulder and gave you a reassuring squeeze as he looked in the men's direction, tears streaming down his face, "Are these men troubling you?"
"Shit, she's with the giant..."
"Just our luck..."
"Let's go find something else to do..." The three men grumbled as they turned and left. As soon as they were gone, Gyomei removed his hand from your shoulder, wiped his teary eyes, and bowed to you, "My apologies. You looked like you were uncomfortable so I chased the men away."
"I..." You swallowed, "Thank you. I was scared there for a second."
"Then I'm glad I could help you." Gyomei smiled gently and nodded, "I better keep going. Please be careful on your way home, there are a lot of creeps out there this time of night."
"A- Actually...!" You yelped as you jumped forward, pinching the man's shirt between your fingers and pulling it a little, "Could you... Could you perhaps escort me to my hotel?"
A hotel? So you weren't a local. Gyomei smiled a little as he nodded, not able to leave a young woman like you in trouble. "Alright, please take the lead and I'll walk with you."
"Thank you, sir...?"
"You can call me Gyomei," The huge man said and you smiled a little as you carefully repeated his name under your breath, "Gyomei... What a nice name."
"Thank you," The man nodded and the two of you started walking, making a small chit-chat with each other as you walked.
"What brings you to the city?" Gyomei asked and you replied, "A job interview."
"Really? Well, then, I wish you the best of luck with it." The huge man smiled and you couldn't help but grin a little also as you listened to him talk about where the best restaurants in the city were. It took a moment, but finally, you made it to your hotel... Only it was obviously a Love Hotel.
"T- This is where you are staying?" Gyomei asked and you nodded, blushing a little as you twiddled your fingers, "T- this was cheaper than other hotels around here..."
