Finally an update. Sorry for the wait. Been busy with my classes and work.

Skylar's POV

It took all of my patience to get through the day, in anticipation of the meeting held at sunset. When we finally arrived at the clearing where the oak tree was, we found that many had arrived ahead of us. We carefully made our way toward the tree, avoiding Weres in their wolf and human forms. There were small bonfires scattered throughout the clearing and we stopped at one close to the largest one that is taken by Angel and Fenrir, along with the Nightshade's Alphas. It was only when the sun fully set and most had settle down did the one of the Nightshade's alpha rose. He looked around before speaking

"Today is a day where your life and everything you know will be changed. For better or for worst only time will show. The wheel of fate has been set in motion since before our creation, and now it is time that we must take a stand to protect not only ourselves but all life. Our self-assurance our ignorance has made us weak. We have forgotten our purpose, the reason for our existence, and now we must open our eyes and see the danger that looms over us. Many of you are aware or have felt the disturbance as the balance have changed."

Whispers had broken out during his speech and I could see many were looking around with a weary look. The noise gradually increased until arguments broke out throughout the clearing. I saw some movement from the corner of my eyes and turned only to see Fenrir helping Angel stand up from where they were sitting. She appeared calm as she survey the scene in front of here while Fenrir seem to become more agitated until Angel placed a hand on his chest and leaned against him. He instantly relaxed and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath and his eyed snapped open to reveal glowing silvery eyes much like the full moon in the sky instead of his former blue eyes.

"Quiet"

He only spook one word yet the clearing instantly fell silent. Once he was sure that he has everyone's attention he sat back down with Angel on his lap before nodding at the alpha to continue.

"Many of you have heard stories how we came to be. But only a few of you knows the truth.

Long ago there was a young girl. Despite her appearance, she had been alive for several centuries. One day she was attacked when she was out in the forest on a cold winter day and was left for the dead, suffering from many wounds as her life blood flows away. A black wolf found her as she struggled to breath and he stayed, howling to call for his pack. A man and a woman appeared along with a white wolf. The man picked up the girl and took her back to his village. The woman treated her wounds as the villagers stopped by with food and extra fur to keep her warm and her two sons kept her company. The woman talked as she worked and as she continues to talk, the girl quietly listens while the two boys took turn holding her hand. She learned that these people, who helps without questions, are people who lives peacefully side by side with wolves. That once they were of age they were given a wolf cub as their companion. As she listens she gradually drifted off to sleep. The woman carefully covered her with fur and left. When morning comes, the man and woman were awakened by the commotions outside their home. They ran outside only to find the girl being chased by the pups and the village children as the parents stood around laughing at the sight. One of the larger pup manage to latch onto her coat causing her to fall back. As she fell against the ground a large roar came from the forest and a great silver beast appeared snarling as he stood over the girl. The villagers cried out in alarm as the wolves snarled at the intruder. To their shock the girl crawled out from under the beast and stood in front of it before smacking its snout. The beast instantly stopped snarling and it was easier to tell that it looked like a wolf, a giant wolf that can easily snap the child's head off. Instead of attacking the girl, the great silver wolf lowered his head and the girl rushed forward to hug him. The man and the woman were in awe and couldn't move even as their sons rushed to the girl. The giant wolf huffed and had an amused look while the girl laughed as the boys tried to pull her away. She turned to whisper something to the boys before looking at their parents. She smiled at them before turning to the giant who had knelt down so she can climb onto his back. Once she was on he stood up and ran back into the forest. No matter how hard they look no tracks were found and it was like they'd never exist. When the man ask his sons what did the girl say to them, they would smile and tell him that their village has been blessed. From then on the villagers never went hungry as the forest became teaming with wildlife and the land more fertile. Once a year on the day they found the girl, they would find piles of fur, sacks of grain, and little satchels filled with seeds along with precious stones and materials stacked neatly in the center of the village. It was a happy and peaceful time for the villagers. However, other villages grew jealous fearful of their power and plot to obtain the riches for themselves. In the dead of the night, three villages came together and attacked the village. It was a massacre, young and old, man or wolf, none were spared, poisoned by a traitor in their midst. As their life blood ebbed away, the elders prayed for someone to save their children and for the attackers to be punished. As their world start to fade a howl echoed through the air before a young girl stepped out of the shadows casted by the flames of the burning village. It was the girl the village had saved years ago. Her eyes glowed as she beheld the destruction in front of her. The attackers seeing another living target and charged at her, only to be tackled by a large silver wolf. Immediately wolves burst out from the trees and tore into the attackers. Screams filled the air as blood was shed, the attackers begged for mercy as they were torn apart. The girl watched without sympathy as they died, they didn’t show mercy so in return they received none from her. Once all of the attackers were dead, the wolves gathered around her. Only then did tears rolled down her face as she look at the still dead body of those that saved her. She decided to bestow one last gift to them. A gift of life by merging their soul with their beloved wolves’ that died by their side. To keep them safe she took them away from the bloody world, to a hidden island where they could live peacefully like she intended. That was how the Lycans came to be, two souls merged as one forever immortal, their mortal descendants became known as werewolves with two separate souls.”

The entire clearing was in shocked silence as he finished the story. It was a sad story, how we were created. I wonder if this is the island and how the story concern Angel and Fenrir, were the they the girl and the wolf from the story and how long has it been since our beginning.

Sorry I know it’s really short but hopefully the next chapter would be longer.
