As the sizzling grills heated up, the enticing aroma of garlic and soy sauce filled the air, making everyone's mouths water in anticipation

You sat with Baji on your left and Emma on your right, the atmosphere buzzing with laughter and the delicious smell of hibachi wafting through the air.
Just as you were taking a sip of your lemonade, Baji nudged you.

"Oh god, she's recording!"
He complained, pointing at Emma, who was holding her phone up, capturing the moment with a cheeky smile.

You nearly choked on your drink, quickly swallowing and turning to wave at the camera.
"Great, now I look like an idiot!"

"You mean you don't always look like that?"
Baji leaned in closer,
his eyes glinting with mischief.

"Shut the hell up, Baji!"
you shot back, rolling your eyes.
"At least I'm not the one who just spilled sauce all over himself!"

He glanced down at his shirt, which now had a suspicious brown stain.
"It adds to the look."

"More like adds embarrassment,"
you laughed, shaking your head.

"You really should be more careful. you know...it looks like
you got shit on you."

"Somebody get this man a bib."
You laugh out before taking a bite of your appetizer.

"Hey, it's called fashion! This shirt is supposed to be a statement,"
he retorted, puffing out his chest dramatically.
"Besides, what do you know about fashion? You're wearing witch shoes."

"Excuse me? These are kitten heels," you replied, smirking as you adjusted your shirt for emphasis.
"But clearly, you wouldn't know anything about fashion if it hit you in the face!"

"Alright, alright, let's keep the roast sessions to a minimum here!"
Emma chimed in, giggling at your back-and-forth.

Baji let out an exaggerated huff.
"But how can we celebrate if we can't roast each other?
That's practically tradition!"

"Yeah, and I'd like to survive this party without being the main course,"
you teased, taking a sip of your lemonade again.

"Survive? With me sitting here?
No chance!"
Baji grinned, leaning closer to you.

"Im about to move next to Hakkai
in a minute."
You huff over Baji already.

As the banter continued, you felt the warmth of the moment, surrounded by friends who knew how to make the ordinary feel extraordinary—even when Baji was being a complete goofball.
