"i'm heading out dad" juliette shouted as she put on her shoes, rushing as they were already outside of her house.

"okay but please stay safe" he responded, his voice coming from the kitchen. "i will" she promised as she walked out the house, closing the door behind herself.

she smiled as she saw matt's minivan parked in her driveway. she walked up to the car opening the door to the back seat where nick and charlotte where sitting leaving her a space. matt and chris where sat at the front and jasmine and reese sat in the back.

she sat down as lottie shrieked "i'm so excited to show you around" jules laughed, lottie's excitement contagious.

she spoke excitedly with everyone in the car as they all laughed and shared jokes as if they had known her for a long time.

hearing bad religion begin to play through the aux she frowned, hating the reminder of her and matt's summer.

this song had been playing when they first met and then became a song they listened to together often, it having been one of her favourites.

"shit" she exclaimed as she was pushed into someone, the impact worse as she tripped over her own feet. she quickly stood offering her hand to the person she tripped into, making eye contact.

he smiled and chuckled and god she was convinced time stopped for a moment. he thanked her as he grabbed her hand standing up.

"i must be the luckiest girl ever, having bumped into you" she said with a smile, her usual flirting poking out.

his smile brightened "i think i'm the lucky one".

she giggled as she nearly tripped again, finding herself swaying. "how about we sit down?" he offered, his hand protectively hovering over her back in case she fell again.

she nodded as he led her to a couch, she gasped in excitement now noticing the song playing, bad religion "i love this song" she explained.

his eyebrows raised watching her in amusement as they sat down and found themselves conversing with the other, time flowing by.

she sneaked a look at matt, realising he's been silent this whole time. his eyes were focused on the road but she could see the frown on his face.

she knew they could never be like how they were before and that hurt but she had hoped that they could at least be friends but the way he was acting left her thinking it wouldn't happen.

"jules!" she heard nick scream as she flinched turning towards him. "yeah what?" she asked casually trying to ignore the fact she zoned out thinking about matt.

"i suggested we go to our favourite spot for food and asked if you wanted to" he explained as she grinned "yeah that sounds good"

"thank god, i'm starving" chris exclaimed sighing in relief.

after a while they pulled into a parking lot as everyone stepped out the car, the promise of food leaving everyone happy.

everyone one began walking and she followed them, noticing the cafe they seemed to be going to. it was clearly local and seemed incredibly cozy as they all stepped in the bell on the door going off.

the women at the counter looked over at us, smiling "its good to see you guys again"

"good to see you" reese spoke up winking at the woman, harley said her name tag, who simply rolled her eyes, most likely used to it. nick smacked him on the arm "you have got to stop"

reese just shrugged innocently as they all chose a table and sat down. "you guys come here often?" she questioned laughing.

"harley makes some of the best baked goods" jasmine explained and she smiled simply feeling so welcome with the group already.

they all started deciding on what they wanted to eat as everyone began throwing her their suggestions which left her feeling very indecisive.

"i'm sure you'll be coming here often with us so don't worry about you get, you can try the other suggestions later" matt said noticing her indecisiveness. she looked up from the menu and they shared a look for a moment as she thanked him.

he quickly cleared his throat and turned to reese joining in on their conversation. however, she could only hope this meant there was some chance of friendship between them as she finally decided on what to get.

once their food had arrived they all dug in as chris complained about how he could have died of starvation.

they hadn't lied, the food here was really good and the company around her made her believe that maybe moving to boston hadn't been a bad idea.

once they had all finished they paid and had thanked harley as they walked out.

matt insisted they all walked around for a bit, wanting to appreciate that autumn had arrived.

they all walked around for a while, the hues in each leaf different as the world looked more colourful. the group pointing out different building and shops to jules, letting her know their favourites to go to.
