Taylor's Pov:

We arrived at Kansas City a little past 10 am, the sun just beginning to warm the city streets as we pulled into a small coffee shop around the corner. Were supposed to meet the previous owner to exchange the keys and officially make the house ours. I'm so excited yet a little nervous for this new beginning.

"Ooh mommy can I get a cake Pop?" Liam asked, "Me too mommy!" Amelia followed. Smiling, I nodded my head and got in line to order while Travis and our parents found a table big enough for us.

While waiting in line, I noticed an old couple enter the shop hand in hand. They looked around seventy years old and anyone who could see them, could see that they still looked madly in love. As I watched them look around, they moved to the table where Travis and our parents were sitting and then it dawned on me that they were the previous owners of the house we were about to call ours.

I got the kids cake pops and walked over to our table. It seemed like they'd already introduced themselves to my family.

"Hi!" The old lady was first to greet me, her husband right after. "Hello, I'm Taylor!"

"It's nice to meet you Taylor, I'm Mandy" She smiled, looking down at Liam and Amelia who shyly stood behind mine and Travis's chairs. Well by shyly I meant just Liam because Amelia, per usual, didn't care to show her curiosity.

"Who are you?" She questioned, clearly not having it that two strangers were sitting at our table.

"Amelia!" My eyes widened, giving her a stern look, one that said "behave or I'll keep your iPad for longer".

"Well I'm Mandy, what's your name?" Mandy didn't seem to mind Amelia's outburst. "I'm Amelia and this is my brother Liam" She pointed at Liam, who was still hiding behind Travis.

"It's nice to meet you both" She smiled, "This is my husband Dave"

I shook his hand and after a while we all quickly fell into a long conversation. It was about what's to know about the house and the neighborhood we would be living in. Our house wasn't so big and huge. It was just right for our little family of four, which I didn't think we'd be growing for a very long time.

"I hope you'll make new, wonderful memories there," Mandy said softly, after our conversation slowly started to die down. She reached into her purse and pulled out a small, silver keychain. "It's a good home. It deserves a family that will love it as much as we did." She said, Dave nodding along.

We took the keys from her, the weight of them solid and real in my hand. This was it. The final step.

"Thank you, Mandy," Travis said, "We'll take good care of it. I promise."

Mandy smiled, standing up slowly. "I know you will."

Standing up, both her and Dave left the coffee shop, hand in hand once again. It warmed my heart to see them clearly still in love.

I looked at Travis and smiled, leaning in to peck his lips. He reciprocated the kiss, probably knowing exactly what was going through my head. One day, that would be him and I.

After a ten minute drive we finally arrived at the house and let me tell you, I was a roller coaster of emotions. Excitement bubbled up inside me as I caught my first glimpse of the place that would soon be our home. But then anxiety crept in. How hard is it going to get? What if I'm not ready to live without my parents yet?

Removing those thoughts from my head, I quickly got down and unbuckled Liam while Travis took care of Amelia.

"Is this our new house?!" Amelia exclaimed, running down to the front porch. We laughed at her excitement and walked to the front door.

I noticed our parents standing behind us, probably wanting to give us this moment.

"You ready, my love?" Travis asked, rubbing my hand softly. Letting out a sigh, I nodded. This was it. Our new beginning. After months of planning, searching, and second guessing, we were finally here. The house was ours. As soon as we walked through the front door, new memories would be made and this house would belong to us.

Unlocking the door, Travis opened it letting not only us, but a new beginning in. The kids squealed in joy and ran inside, probably trying to search every room and choosing their own.

I laughed, forgetting that there can't be a peaceful moment for us to settle in with kids. But that was the best part. That we had kids to make these new memories with.

"Welcome home, baby" Travis pulled me in by my waist and kissed my head. Leaning into him, I happily sighed and watched our kids run up and down the stairs, opening every single door of the house.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to see my mom. "How do you feel?" She asked and it was then when I realized that I was crying.

"Happy, excited, scared, nervous, everything" I laughed, wiping my tears. She pulled me into her arms and I quietly broke down. I was so ready to move forward and begin this journey but it hurt to leave my mom. I don't know how I'd do it without her.

"Don't cry sweetheart, you and Travis got this. You guys are young but responsible and I know for a fact you guys will be amazing" She said, squeezing my shoulder in comfort. I nodded as I felt Travis run my shoulders up and down.

"So who wants to help get things down?" Ed asked, making us all laugh. We all got out to help get things down from the truck and our parents car while the kids came in and out of the house. I swear they seemed like wild animals. I'm not kidding.

"It's so bittersweet isn't it?" I felt a pair of arms wrap around me from behind as I stood in the front of the house, watching from a distance.

"It is. But I'm so ready for this next chapter" I smiled, securing his hands around my waist and leaning into him.

"I love you" He said, kissing my cheek. "I love you too, thank you for working so hard for us" Turning my head slightly to look at him, I gave him a soft smile, thinking about everything he's done to get us to this point.

"You deserve everything and more" He pecked my lips softly, but it slowly turned into a tiny make out session. I say tiny because we didn't get longer than twenty seconds until the kids started dragging us inside with them. Never a peaceful moment without them interrupting us. But that is what we chose, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

A/N just an fyi i might not be able to update for a while because I'm trying to solely focus on school and work and it's sometimes difficult to find time to write.
