Chapter 3

— Offroad —

I was chilling at home when I received an IG notification saying that Daou just followed me. I barely had time to process it before my phone buzzed with a text from an old college friend, Dunk.  We met our first year of college in a finance class and kept a casual friendship throughout the years. He was  working as an actor and, like me, put his degree in the closet for now.

*Dunk : Hey bro, long time no see, how have you been?

Offroad : I'm doing great thanks and you ? I watched your latest series, I was totally hooked haha

Dunk : I'm good, thanks! Thanks for the support dude ! I saw some clips of you from your event today and I wanted to invite you out for a drink to catch up, would you like that ?

Offroad : Oh yeah, I'm in

Dunk : My boyfriend and our friends might join us, if that's okay with you ? I think you might have met most of them, Joong, Est and Daou*

So his friend with Daou huh .. I've met the other two, nice guys.

*Offroad : Under one condition, can I bring my best friend Diamond ?

Dunk : Of course. Are you available Saturday?*

I called Diamond

"Hey, do you have plans on Saturday?"

"No I don't, why ?"

"Well, now you do, remember my friend Dunk from college? He invited me out for a drink with his friends.. and guess who is going to be there, Daou"

"Daou is determined to get you huh, bet he's the one behind the invite"

"Stop with your nonsense. I'll answer Dunk and confirm Saturday"

I hung up and texted him back to confirm everything.

The next thing I knew, it was already Saturday and I'd spent 30 minutes picking out an outfit.

"I'm not interested in him, I'm not looking for a relationship, I'm just a fan of his singing" I heard Diamond say in a high pitched voice from my bed. He's been sitting there for the past 30 minutes giggling to himself and being of absolutely no help.

I just ignored him and decided to go for basic high waisted jeans and a black mesh shirt tucked in.

When we arrived at the bar, we spotted Daou and the rest of the group sitting in the back.

"Hey Offroad, glad you could make it bro, I think you know almost everyone, but let me officially introduce you. This is Joong, my boyfriend, Est and his boyfriend William who decided to join us, and Daou" Dunk said pointing to the guys one by one

"Nice to meet all of you. Here's my best friend Diamond" I said with a smile

Diamond waved at everyone and took the empty seat next to William while I sat next to Daou. He gave me a smile and said :

"Nice to officially meet you. I really wanted to talk to you during the event but we were quite busy on that day and by the time I finished, you were already gone"

"Yeah I left as soon as I finished my interviews, I was exhausted. By the way, I loved your performance on stage, you were really great"

"Thanks, it means a lot" he replied with a hint of a blush. "Have you been modeling for a long time ?" He then asked

"For 3 years now. I've started while I was still studying for my degree, doing some gigs here and there but I went full time once I graduated"

"That's nice, Joong and Est told me they worked with you on a Dior runway, so you must be quite accomplished now"
