Sophia's POV:
Christian groaned beside me, throwing his pencil down on the table in frustration. "I swear, if I have to look at one more history note, I'm gonna lose it."
I chuckled, glancing up from the textbook. His brow was furrowed, lips slightly pouted, like a kid being forced to finish his vegetables. For someone who was used to dominating on the basketball court, he definitely wasn't enjoying being stuck at the table with his history homework.
"C'mon, it's not that bad," I teased, leaning back in my chair. "You're making progress."
He glanced at me, his expression deadpan. "Yeah, progress toward losing my mind."
I laughed, twirling my pen between my fingers. "Oh, please. You've been through worse."
Christian stretched out, his tall frame practically dwarfing the small study chair, and leaned back with a heavy sigh. His eyes flicked to mine, a playful glint hidden beneath the frustration. "Honestly, I'd rather be doing anything else than this."
I couldn't help the grin that tugged at my lips. An idea popped into my head, and before I could think twice, I leaned toward him with a teasing smirk. "What, you wanna come with me to my room instead?" I asked, my voice laced with mischief.
Christian's eyes darkened instantly, his expression shifting from playful to something far more intense. He didn't respond right away, just stared at me for a moment, his gaze dropping to my lips before meeting my eyes again. The room felt smaller, the air thicker, as the tension crackled between us.
"You're making it so damn hard for me to control myself right now," he said, his voice low and rough, filled with a desire that sent shivers down my spine.
I blinked, heat creeping up my neck at the weight of his words. My teasing smile faltered for a second, the air around us charged with something much more serious. His eyes, filled with that dangerous glint, made my heart race as if daring me to keep pushing.
Trying to keep the mood light, I giggled softly, leaning back in my chair and crossing my arms. "No, seriously," I said, still teasing but feeling the flush creeping up my cheeks. "I want to show you my room."
His gaze didn't waver. He leaned forward slightly, closing the distance between us, his voice still low but now edged with curiosity. "Your room?"
I nodded, forcing a playful smirk, though my pulse was hammering in my chest. "Yeah. I mean, you've been over here so many times, but you've never seen it."
Christian's gaze flickered with interest, his playful frustration forgotten. "Lead the way," he said, his voice sending a thrill through me.
I stood up from the table, trying to play it cool as I motioned for him to follow. But my heart was pounding, and I couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to change.
Christian's POV:
As Sophia stood up and motioned for me to follow her, my heart hammered against my ribs. I tried to play it cool, but the way she said, "I want to show you my room," left little room for calm.
I followed her down the hallway, my eyes glued to her as she moved with that effortless grace she always had. Her long hair swayed with every step, and the curve of her back as she led the way was impossible to ignore. The tension between us had been building for weeks, every tutoring session, every time we got too close—it was like we were dancing around something we both wanted but weren't saying out loud.
And now, as I followed her toward her bedroom, that tension was thick in the air, making it harder to breathe, harder to think.
We stopped at a door, and Sophia hesitated for a moment before opening it. "This is it," she said with a small, teasing smile as if it were no big deal. But the way her eyes flickered nervously told me otherwise.
