Greetings, writers & readers! Hope you are having fun with the Writing and Reading Challenges.

Additional to the long format contest, we present to you the relatively short form challenges, especially for our dearest people who find it hard to commit to a new or longer project at the moment. This is the festival season and we cannot deny the busy schedule of everyone, all around. To ease the worries of not being able to participate in longer formats, here are a few challenges for you like the fresh breathe of air. Activity #1 from the hat!

Narrate the Lore:

Across the globe there are a variety of tales that hold the crowd's interest and make them shiver to the core. Some hold an oral tradition, some based on real (potential!) incidents. Often times an instance is presented in a way which later on takes the shape of a Lore in the locality. This activity is based upon this theme.

🍁 Participants are encouraged to research and read about some local folklores or the ones that have a deep meaning / backstory attached to them. The tales that tell the story of spook. It can be anything – an abandoned city, ghost tales, haunted forests, disappearing people, even killer ballet shoes –– literally anything that makes the readers turn around and look over their shoulder!

Let your curious eyes open and your creative inks flow.

🍁 Lores can be from any part of the world. Any continent, any country, any state, any village. This is where the researching game comes in. Avoid the widely known tales and focus on the local ones. Try to search for the Lores from the continent different to the one that you are from. Learn about the local intricacies of other side of the world.

🍁 Lastly, in 500 words, describe / narrate the Lore in your own words. Get the gist, center of the tale on the paper. The entry must not exceed 500 words. Do mention the place's name by the bottom of the chapter as well.

Participants can publish this activity entry in the same book they have created for Pen-a-Tale challenge.

The entries will be judged on variety of factors, including the execution, intrigue factor, hook, presentation

This activity has a deeper meaning of making the audience learn about different cultures, and the haunted stories prevailing around. We live in a digital era where from the comfort of our home we can travel across the world, even across planets! Why not use this advantage to learn more about our fellow earth-ones?

🍂 Submission form for this Activity will open on 1st November.
🍂 Deadline: 15th November.
