The rain had stopped, but the city still felt shrouded in a damp, oppressive gloom.  Lucian, his mind racing with the unsettling encounter with Seraphina,  found himself back at the crime scene,  the scene of Gabriel Rossi's gruesome demise.  The police had cordoned off the area,  their yellow tape a stark contrast to the vibrant murals that adorned the surrounding buildings.

He stood in the doorway of Rossi's studio,  the air thick with the lingering scent of paint thinner and death.  The scene was a stark reminder of the city's dark underbelly,  a place where beauty and brutality intertwined in a macabre dance.

Rossi's body,  still sprawled on the floor,  was now covered by a white sheet,  but the chilling tableau of his pose remained etched in Lucian's mind.  The "Entombment of Christ"  position,  the symbol etched into his chest,  it all pointed to a killer with a twisted artistic vision,  someone who reveled in the macabre.

As he surveyed the scene,  a sense of dread washed over him.  This wasn't just a random act of violence.  This was a ritual,  a performance,  a twisted homage to art and death.  And it was only the beginning.

"Blackwood!"  Inspector Davies'  voice boomed from behind him.  "We've got another one."

Lucian turned,  his heart sinking.  Another victim.  Another ritualistic murder.  The city was bleeding,  and he felt powerless to stop it.

"Where?"  he asked,  his voice tight with a mixture of fear and determination.

"The Grand Opera House,"  Davies replied.  "They found her backstage,  same symbol,  same pose.  This time,  it's 'The Scream'."

Lucian's stomach churned.  The killer was escalating,  each murder more elaborate,  more chilling than the last.  He felt a cold knot tighten in his chest,  a sense of dread that he couldn't shake.  He was facing a monster,  a creature that walked among them,  wearing a mask of normalcy while perpetrating acts of unspeakable horror.

He knew he had to stop this killer,  but he felt a growing sense of unease.  The city was whispering,  and he was starting to hear the whispers of a darkness that threatened to consume him.

"Let's go,"  he said,  his voice betraying a hint of the fear that gnawed at him.  He knew he was stepping into a world of shadows,  a world where the line between reality and nightmare was blurring,  and where the whispers of the city could lead him to a truth he wasn't sure he was ready to face.
