Kahlani's pov

"Kahlani" my mama said pulling my blanket of me. "What" I said. "I heard you going to the gym with someone getcha ass up" she said. "We aren't going until 2" I said.

"Lil girl it's 1:41" she said. "Fuck" I said getting up. "Yea getcha ass up" she said. I ran to my closet and picked out an outfit for the gym. "Sissy has a boyfriend" Zari said.

"Z get out of here" I said. "Zaria get out before lani gets in trouble" mama said. "What the fuck did I even do?" I asked. She just closed the door leaving me confused.

A few minutes later I did my hair and ran downstairs. "Nigga why do you have my basketball?" Ashton said. "Because nigga I'm finna go play basketball" I said.

"You mad dumb" he said. "Ashley hush" mama said. "You tweakin I ain't no Ashley" he said. "Ashley" Zari said laughing. "Zari I don't care if you're four i'ma hit you" he said.

Zari ran up to me and started crying. I picked her up and shook my head at Ashton. "Ashton ima beat yo ass" mama said. "I was playin" he said. "Don't touch my baby" she said.

"It's okay mamas" I said hugging Zari tight as she still cried. "Take her outside" mama said. "Okay" I said. We walked out the door and I sat on the pourch swing.

I patted her back as she seemed to calm down. "It's okay mamas he won't touch you" I said. "Ashton yelled at me" she said crying again. "I know baby it's okay" I said.

Zari gets emotional when anyone but my mom yells at her. So that's why when I do get mad at her I make sure I don't yell. After a few minutes she calmed down and played with my hair.

I told her to be careful for the metal on the pourch swing because it's very hot because it was hot outside. As she played with my hair I waited for nelson.

"Kahlani" I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw nelson. "Oh hey" I said getting up and walking towards him. "Babysitting?" He asked. "No we are just outside" I said.

"Oh okay" he said. "Lani I don't wanna go back inside" Zari said. "It's okay baby he won't yell at you again" I said. "No" she said. "She can come it's fine" nelson said.

"You sure?" I asked. "Yea I got a friend who brings her brother with her he's 4" he said. "Oh okay I'll tell my mom" I said. "Yay I get to go with you" Zari said.

I smile at her and walk inside. "Mama" I said. "She's upstairs getting ready to beat Ashton's ass" dad said. "Oh well Zari doesn't wanna stay here so ima take her okay" I said.

"That's fine" he said. "Okay Zari we gotta get your backpack" I said. We go to the kitchen and find her backpack. "Crustable" she said. "Baby those need to stay cold" I said.

"Ritos" she said. "Which ones?" I asked. "Blue" she said. I got her some blue doritos and gushers because she's obsessed with those and of course her water bottle.

We have to pack extra apple juice and I got her some Barbies and put it in there. "Purse she said. Yea Zari has purses to match her outfits she's just as spoiled as me.

We get her stuff and walk outside. "How the hell does this kid have matching shoes and a purse for her outfit?" Nelson asked. "She also has glasses" I said.

"What the fuck" he said. I know you should see how many Barbies she has" I said. "What the hell" he said. "I know" I said. We started walking and talking.

Zari started to warm up to Nelson but she was still shy. As we were walking Zari wanted me to pick her up. "You can walk" I said. She stopped walking making us stop.
