Y/N POV
I stared at the man—Changbin. His name filtered through the haze in my mind, a piece of the puzzle, through the rest remained scattered and out of reach. His face was softer than I expected, a stark contrast to his strong, defined jawline and the subtle trace of a tattoo on his arm. I tried to piece together the fragments of the night before, but my mind was frustratingly blank, a foggy blue of emotions, touches and whispers.
Carefully, I shifted, the sheets rustling beneath me, and I winced at the throbbing in my head. A part of me wanted to slip out quietly, pretend this never happened, but something about him kept me rooted here, watching him sleep so peacefully. 'This wasn't the kind of person who should have been a fleeting mistake—was it?' The thought twisted in my gut.
'What am I even doing here? How did we go from strangers to... this?' I bit my lip, my eyes scanning the room for clues. The dim light cast soft shadows over the hardwood floor, reflecting off the whiskey glasses on the nightstand. A single glace at my phone told me it was already late morning, but I felt trapped in the stillness of the moment. I wasn't ready to leave or to face the reality of what might follow when he woke up. 'What if this was just a one-time thing to him?'
I swallowed the lump in my throat, my gaze drifting back to Changbin. In that moment, he stirred, his eyelids fluttering open. His gaze found mine, and I froze. His dark eyes, still heavy with sleep, locked onto me, sending a jolt through my chest. The weight of everything unsaid pressed between us.
"Morning," he murmured, voice thick and rough, like gravel under silk. There was a quietness in his tone that made my heart skip.
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came. What was there to say?
