What would I like to change in Hers Professor

Dear Readers,

I know many of you think, this novel is perfect. I think otherwise, I wrote it in 11th class. So, it harbours a lot of problematic elements. Even though both Arya and Riyansh are consenting adults with not so much of an age difference. But I would like to add further nuances in it.

I would like to increase Arya's age to 25 or 26 while the professor is 30. A bigger age gap can cause power imbalance. When I wrote this novel, I imagined Riyansh to be 28 or 30 and Arya to be 22. So that's what I would like to change. I would also like to show how Arya feels much isolated due to her age. How she is older than other classmates of her and her past trauma above it makes her feel incompetent and how she feels insecure because of it and henceforth lacks friendship and that's why she finds a friendship in Riyansh.

I would like to change the kiss scene. And add nuances in it. Arya kisses Riyansh because of the stories she read in her childhood where a heroine finds true love when she kisses. And how that wasn't a conscious decision but more a panic attack reaction. I would like Riyansh to be puzzled by it and not enticed by it but feel more confused and violated but empathetic towards Arya's situation.

Riyansh, I would like to make him more responsible and would like him to be doubtful about pursuing a relationship with his student. I would also like to make Arya's parents less exaggerated.

They feel like average daily soap parents and the comedy doesn't land. Riyansh is not as wise in impressing someone. He is kinda dorky, and I would want other characters to notice it but like him for his genuine nature and kindness. I would not want everyone to be immediately charmed by him. I would still have the college girls having a crush on him because he is intelligent, dorky and cute.

Also I would lessen the infantilising. There are some dialogues I find problematic in which Riyansh is infantilising Arya. I would like him to like her for her innocence. But not infantilise her. And if he does that, I want Arya to tell him to not do that.

If I get time then I may replan the novel and change it, someday. But for now, you guys can enjoy it. You can tell me your views. Thank you for loving Riyansh and Arya so much. Lovely Riyansh sends all of you his love and warm hugs.
