Kairo Sato made an unpredictable move as he exited from his group ZENITH just a week after he had returned from a long hiatus.
His entertainment company had just announced his return from a year-long hiatus, but early this morning, the management retracted the statement saying 'Kairo has expressed the desire to leave ZENITH to safeguard his fellow members and respect fans' feelings.' The former ZENITH member released a statement on their fan platform expressing his thoughts through a handwritten letter.
His statement reads, "I am sorry for the distress and confusion that have arisen in our ZENS. My return to the group has caused some unrest and seems to cause more harm than good. Wanting you all to know first, I have decided that I will not be returning to ZENITH." He further adds "My return would bring more challenges and impact the achievements my brothers have worked so hard for, and invaluable support of ZENS has been their greatest source of strength, and I don't want to be a barrier." At the end of his letter, Kairo expressed his thanks to his ex-band members for allowing him to return and for their continuous support throughout this process and explicitly mentioned how he will always be rooting for them. He also reiterates his thanks to the ZENS who waited patiently for his return and thanked them profusely for being his rock since the beginning.
The boy group ZENITH debuted last year as a group of seven before controversy struck Kairo. Kairo Sato found himself entangled with controversies after pictures from his pre-debut were leaked online. In the images and clips, Kairo was captured spending time with girls, and participating in underage drinking. With the backlash that arose, Kairo was sent into a year-long hiatus just 2 months into debuting, leaving the remaining members to promote as a group of six.
