The next morning, Juliette woke up, yawning and turning to her side lazily, only to be face to face with nothing but an empty space. She sighed in disappointment and pushed herself up from the bed. She slid on her slippers and wrapped a comfortable robe around her body. She remembered having gotten this as a gift from her older sister, the sweet old times.

She only had a night shift today so she wanted to relax all day long, she was sipping on some coffee she just made when suddenly something caught her mind. It was Sebastian's phone, he seemed to have forgotten it in a hurry. She was about to go to her bedroom to put on some clothes and drive over to his workplace when suddenly curiosity hit. And it hit hard.

She felt as if it wouldn't be a big deal since he wouldn't know and he's her husband either way... She slowly slid the phone off the table and she remembered seeing his phone password without his knowledge when he thought she was sleeping. She used it and scrolled through his text messages. Some texts from his mom, some from his older brother- he was such a sweet guy from the last time she saw him- And she saw a few messages had been sent by a woman who was named "Babe💖". She immediately felt her heart stop, she wished in the back of her head that maybe she was overreacting, maybe she read it wrong.

She went to their messages and she saw what instantly broke her heart. She wished it was all a dream, she wished she could just unsee it. She saw a group of texts of them being sweet to each other, him complaining about her and his marriage and how he wished he could be at home with his mistress instead. She felt heartbroken as if she was being used.

As if fate was playing around, as soon as she read those messages, she heard his car parking near the garage, she immediately put on the phone and acted as if she wasn't reading his affair as if tears weren't pricking her eyes at the moment. He burst through the door, seeming rather panicked.

Sebastian: Feigning calm "Hey, I think I left my phone here earlier. Have you seen it?"

Juliette: Smiling, holding up the phone "You mean this? You were quick to come back for it. What, afraid I might read your messages?"

Sebastian: Forces a laugh "Nah, just... I need it. You know how it is."

Juliette: Pretends to scroll "Yeah, I get it. You probably have a lot going on. That must be why you're always so distracted lately.

Sebastian: Tenses "Distracted? I guess work has been stressful."

Juliette: "Right, work. Is that what's been keeping you up late too?"

Sebastian: Hesitates "Yeah, of course. Work and... other stuff."

Juliette: Feigns innocence "Other stuff? Well, if it helps you unwind, I guess I can't complain. But you seem a bit... edgy lately."

Sebastian: Trying to keep calm "It's nothing. Just a lot to handle. You know how it is."

Juliette: Shrugs nonchalantly "Well, I'm here if you want to talk. No secrets, right?"

Sebastian: Visibly uneasy "Of course. No secrets. You can always trust me."

Juliette: Eyes him carefully, nodding "Good to know." Hands him the phone "You should probably keep a closer eye on this. Who knows what someone could find if they went snooping."

Sebastian: Eyes widening "Yeah... thanks for holding onto it."

Juliette: "Anytime. Just make sure to keep it safe."

Sebastian: Attempts a reassuring smile "Yeah, I will. I've got nothing to hide.

Juliette: Smiling back, but with a hint of sadness "I'm glad to hear that."

He went to the door and waved her goodbye before going back outside and locking the door behind him. She immediately put down the cup and the tears flowed down automatically. She wouldn't show anyone her weakness, she even felt as if she was being too hysterical, that she should be stronger than this...

Why didn't he just leave her? Maybe it would have been less painful than this... The fact that he saw his texts about him complaining about her and their marriage was the worst of it all. All the signs were there, but she was too in love with him to notice it, she only ignored them but now the truth was in front of her, in plain view.

How is their marriage gonna survive such tragedy?

How is she going to handle this?

How is she gonna tell him that she knows?

How...
