Delaney got a call from her brother at ten o'clock at night. She groaned and pulled herself out of bed, she had already settled in for the evening and was scrolling the internet for articles that piqued her interest. She had the address of the meeting point. The place they would kill the man. They only killed people who got away from the justice system and or escaped it somehow, and then went back to commit another crime.
She grabbed her secret set of knives from the closet in her bedroom, walking towards the door, her face was an expressionless gaze, like it was. It was always a good idea to hold a poker face on. Delaney took the stairs down, then got into her car. She drove to the exact location of where the scene of the crime they would commit would take place. It was an abandoned building and she entered it. She saw the bodies Dexter laid out inside the building and shivered in disgust.
Now all she had to do was play the waiting game and wait for her brother to show up. The door was thrown open in front of her, "Jesus!" She shouted, "can't you be a little more discreet?"
"Oh- you always worry we're going to get caught, but... no we haven't gotten caught within the last several years we've done this... we've been... you've been doing this for uh- let's see here, since you were fourteen."
"So you're both crazy." The man said.
"Shut up! Can we shut him up somehow?" Delaney asked her brother, she stood the man up and pushed him against the wall, "do what I say. Look." She pointed behind her in the direction of the bodies.
"No."
"Uh, yes." Dexter said, taking a step in front of his sister to be in front of the man.
"No, no!"
"It's horrible, isn't it?" Delaney said, crossing her arms, "isn't it?" She shouted.
"Please..." the man begged, looking at them.
"Open your eyes and look at what you did!" Delaney shouted, raising a hand to force the man's eyelids open.
Dexter put a hand out to stop her, "look or I'll cut your eyelids right off your face." Dexter said, calmly in comparison to what his sister was shouting at the man that was calm, he grabbed the man's chin and jerked it to the left, "it took me a long time to get these little boys clean. One of them had been in the ground so long he was falling apart. I pulled him out in bits and pieces."
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is–"
"Stop!" Delaney groaned as she slapped him across the face, "that never helped anybody."
"Please, you can have anything." The man begged.
"Where'd you find this one, hm? The zoo?" She asked her brother, glancing at him.
Dexter couldn't help but laugh at the sarcasm from his sister, "That's good. Beg. Did these little boys beg?"
"I couldn't help myself. I couldn't. I- please, you have to understand..." he told them, glancing across both their faces.
"Trust me, we definitely understand. See, we can't help ourselves, either. Children, we could never do that. Not like you. Never, ever kids." Dexter said, leaning away from the man to prime the shot.
"Why?"
"We have standards." Delaney answered and Dexter drove the shot into the man's neck. They dragged him into another room where Dexter had set up plastic and a table in the middle.
"I brought my tools in case you didn't bring yours. Do you remember-"
"Yes. I do remember." He rolled his eyes and scoffed, "help me get him onto the table."
