It was Monday morning and Bradley felt like he was walking on clouds.

Max and him had spent the rest of the weekend in an endless loop of kissing and cuddling. After Bobby had left their apartment, that was.

Max had behaved himself, his hands never wandering too far, every single kiss they shared just on the edge of innocent.

There were gentle fingers teasing the skin of Bradley’s hips now and then, but Max always withdrew right away, giggling at the way it made Bradley jump in surprise.

Bradley loved it. Max being gentle with him, Max gazing up at him with stars in his eyes, Max pulling him on top of his chest on the couch, not even letting Bradley get close to his own room.

Bradley couldn’t stop himself from smiling as he walked down the stairs of the dorm facility.

Max was still asleep on the couch, as Bradley had decided to not wake him. Once the boy fell asleep it would take a truck crashing through the window of their apartment to wake him back up.

So Bradley had quietly rolled off the couch and pressed a soft kiss onto Max’ forehead before getting ready and silently slipping out of the apartment.

He pushed through the big entrance door and stepped outside. The morning was sunny but a bit on the chilly side. Not that it mattered. Bradley only had to think of the last two days and he was burning up from the inside.

He rolled his eyes for being so cheesy, and took off towards the main building of the campus. He was running a bit late, so he might have some trouble catching a good spot in the lecture hall. That’s what he got for staring at his sleeping roommate for too long.

“Get a grip on yourself”, he muttered under his breath, picking up his steps.

But the cheesy thoughts kept coming.

What they had felt exciting and breathtaking, but also safe. Max felt safe and that was something Bradley never had with anyone else before.

There had been previous relationships (if you could even call them that), but there had always been some kind of pressure to it, some unspoken expectations Bradley had to meet that always had made him feel uncomfortable. He’d never felt comfortable enough to be honest with anyone, so of course nothing ever lasted long.

Much to Tank’s liking. He’d never approved of any guy Bradley had dated. In retrospect, Bradley understood why.

Whatever.

Bradley shook his head to stop a montage of exes playing behind his eyes.

There was none of that with Max. Whatever they had felt really good, at least for now. And Bradley had to keep himself from thinking any further than that. His mind would just start to spiral, one question chasing the other.

What were they? How serious were they? Were they exclusive? Was Bradley allowed to ask any of those questions? Why couldn’t he just chill?

The main building came closer and closer as Bradley powerwalked towards it, and he was really looking forward to listening very intently to today’s lecture in order to stop his mind from being ridiculous.

And that’s what he was; ridiculous. It was Max . Max - with his heart of gold - Goof.

Max wasn’t like him . He was unafraid to say what he was thinking, brutally honest even, and Bradley actually had the nerve to question his intentions?
