### Chapter 30

The atmosphere crackled with tension as the battle between Kristian and Heimdall reached its climax. Just as Kristian poised to deliver the final, lethal blow, a sudden flash of light illuminated the battlefield. The Valkyries descended from the sky, their ethereal forms glowing with radiant energy.

"Heimdall!" one of the Valkyries called out, her voice commanding and fierce. "We must retreat! This fight is not yours to finish!"

Kristian's eyes widened in disbelief as the Valkyries formed a protective circle around Heimdall, their presence both majestic and terrifying. "You cannot be serious!" he shouted, his voice laced with fury. "Heimdall has terrorized us long enough!"

But the Valkyries remained steadfast, their loyalty to the gods unyielding. "We cannot let this continue!" the lead Valkyrie declared, her voice echoing with authority. "Step aside, warrior. Let Heimdall go."

Fueled by rage and desperation, Kristian lunged at Heimdall, but a Valkyrie intercepted him with a swift strike. The clash resonated through the air, and Kristian realized he had no choice but to defend himself.

Their battle began, and the Valkyrie fought with the elegance and ferocity that only a warrior of the skies could possess. She was strong, but Kristian had tasted enough of fury to know that he could not hold back. As the two exchanged blows, Kristian’s focus sharpened, his instincts guiding him.

With a powerful thrust, he countered her attack, grabbing her arm and spinning her around. The Valkyrie struggled to break free, but Kristian was relentless. In a moment of sheer determination, he tore her wings from her back, sending feathers scattering like snowflakes in the wind.

The Valkyrie's eyes widened in shock and pain as she crumpled to the ground, defeated. Kristian stood over her, breathing heavily, the weight of his actions sinking in. He had crossed a line, but the heat of battle dulled the guilt that threatened to overwhelm him.

The remaining Valkyries gasped in horror, their fear evident. They glanced at each other, their expressions shifting from defiance to dread as they recognized the ferocity within Kristian. Alysandra, still bound by the Valkyries' magic, watched in horror as her lover unleashed his wrath, a mix of fear and admiration swirling within her.

Kristian turned toward the remaining Valkyries, his expression dark and unyielding. "You will not take him from me!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the forest.

The Valkyries, sensing Kristian’s unwavering resolve and the potential for more bloodshed, began to back away. Heimdall, seeing the tide turn against him, realized his situation was precarious. "We will return!" he spat, a mixture of rage and contempt in his voice. "This isn’t over, warrior!"

With a final, defiant glare, Heimdall and the remaining Valkyries retreated, disappearing into a swirling portal that shimmered with the light of Asgard.

As the echoes of battle faded, Kristian stood alone in the quiet aftermath, the weight of his actions settling heavily upon him. He turned slowly to Alysandra, who was finally free, the magical bindings dissolving into the air.

Her eyes were wide, filled with a mix of fear and relief. "Kristian," she breathed, rushing toward him.

In an instant, he enveloped her in his arms, holding her tightly against him. "I thought I lost you," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion.

"I’m here. I’m right here," Alysandra replied, her voice muffled against his shoulder. She hugged him back with equal fervor, feeling the tension of the battle seep away as she clung to him.

Kristian's heart began to calm, the adrenaline of the fight slowly dissipating as he lost himself in the warmth of her embrace. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the sweet scent of her presence, grounding him in a moment of clarity amid the chaos.
