Look at me

A crying child hurts as much as
you sticking out your neck for someone who couldn't care less.
A crying child could fill a lake,
while that lying snake would only drink it.
So look at me, look at me—
I could make it:
a drawing with a heart, telling you I love you.
Oh dad, don't break my heart,
when I haven't made it yet; do you even care?
I'm still carrying the teddy bear, so
please don't throw it away,
like it isn't a part of your day,
like my heart isn't even there.
I heard that it's not okay not to share,
so why don't you share your love with me?
Or is that snake too wrapped around you
for you to hear that I don't want to disappear?
Before you try to erase me,
I have so much left to say,
but the lake is now empty,
so why won't you stay and try to help me?
Please, dad, are you going to replace me?
Why can't you just embrace me?
I long to lay in your arms once more,
while you hold me tight and sing me a goodnight song
before turning off the light and walking out the door.
the tears could be worth much more.
