"What?" The man steps into his operating room with a pissed off tone. He didn't like being rushed, nor screamed at. "Oh you brought me a graveyard!" He says looking at you and Falco carrying 3 either limp or very weak bodies."Get me 5 blood bags, boosters, and anything to keep their pulses stable!" You order him. You would normally laugh at yourself for giving orders to the doctor, but this was a no laughing matter.
Kiwi was already there, unconscious, hooked up to an IV. Her vitals seemed stable though. Thankfully Rebecca did what you had told and managed to get her there for doc to help her.
You placed David on the operating chair and Rebecca on a metal table.
"Get her some blood and I'll take it from here. Look G David has too much metal to deal with before we can do anything to him, I'll start fixing up the girl, but your gonna have to take out as many implants on David as possible" he told you in a somewhat pitiful tone.
You nodded to him. You already knew what you had to do when it all came down to it. You first removed the large arm implant he had. He could only fit them because he worked out regularly, and guessing he'll be in bed rest and limited movement for a couple of months, you already knew he would lose a bit of muscle and won't be able to sustain them anymore.
Then he took out a few implants from his legs that were busted but could easily be replaced, and after uninstalled a few chips from his softwear. Anything he didn't immediately need on him was removed.
"Doc, I'm gonna need your help with this last one" you stood there looking down at his back. David wasn't gonna be too excited about this, but it had to be done.
You went to grab the spinal cord you had ordered and saved for this exact reason.
"You knew this would happen" Doc said looking at you open up the container for the organ.
"I had to prepare for the worst" you answer in a defeated tone. You watch as doc hooked in the right arm to operate from his collection.
Then it started. First, he unplugged the Sandavistan, gently removing it from the boy. It had to be a quick surgery, the spine was quite an important part, and changing to an organic one was an even harder task. It took doc fairly long, you weren't the expert so you helped him grabbing the tools he needed.
Once his new spine was in place, he conectes all his ribs, replacing a few broken ones while at it. Stitching the boy shut after finishing.
He made it. His vitals where stable and the only thing left was for doc to check anymore wounds he had left or broken bones. And after that, just wait to seen if his body doesn't reject the new spine. Of course, David still had to wake up to know if he had suffered any permanent brain damage that will affect his day to day life. But everything else seemed functional. Now you could only wait.
While Doc was stitching up David you went back to Rebecca since she was stable but not completely done since David was in such critical condition and his case was a bit more time sensitive. Her eye was fucked up but that was an implant that could easily be switched. Like David, she had broken ribs and both her arms were busted. Doc had already replaced her ribs but the only thing left was to replaces damaged tech.
Doc didn't have an arm implant lying around, it was typically the costumer that brought the mod and the doc would install it. But that's when you remembered... Pilar.
"Hey I'm stepping out for a bit, be right back" you warn doc and he nods in acknowledgment while he worked on her ribs. You call out your motor cycle that autopilot's to your location, and head straight to Rebecca's house.
