Hero.
What defines a hero? Was it their fame, their riches, or the power they possessed? What truly made someone worthy of being called a hero? Could anyone become one, no matter how many said otherwise? Could they still chase after their dreams, even when the world constantly told them they were not enough?
These were just a few of the countless questions that plagued the minds of three individuals. Three people, bound by a single desire-to be heroes in a world overflowing with superpowers, a world that had no place for those like them.
But the world they lived in was far from kind. It was a harsh, unforgiving place where not all people were born equal. Some were destined for greatness, praised and glorified before they even learned to walk. Others, like them, were seen as mistakes. Flaws in a world obsessed with power.
Society was anything but fair. Since the arrival of quirks-superpowers that had reshaped everything-the world had been stuck in a rigid cycle for over nine decades.
People only cared about one thing: quirks.
"What's your quirk? Who are your parents? Do you come from a strong bloodline?"
That was all that mattered. Power, lineage, and status. These were the things that decided your place in life. These were the things that sealed your fate. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't escape it.
Quirks determined everything.
For Neito Monoma, life had always been filled with cruelty. He was mocked for his quirk, ridiculed for his sexuality, beaten for simply being different. The only person who ever showed him kindness, the one who cared for him, died when he was only six years old. Since then, Neito carried a loneliness no child should bear, drowning in the belief that he would never be enough.
Hitoshi Shinso knew that feeling well. From a young age, people told him he looked like a villain. His quirk only made things worse. His family looked at him with quiet disdain, his classmates shunned him, and the world branded him as someone who would one day turn evil. He had one friend, but even that was taken from him when his powers manifested. From then on, he learned what it truly meant to be alone.
And then there was Izuku Midoriya. Perhaps his burden was the heaviest of them all. His father had abandoned him and his mother when he was just four years old. By the time he turned six, doctors told him he was quirkless. In a world where power meant everything, he had none. The taunts and abuse that followed him were relentless, and no matter how hard he tried, nothing ever changed. His dream of becoming a hero-something he held onto with all his heart-was constantly crushed by a society that saw him as worthless.
"Freak. Monster. Lowlife. Scum. Worthless."
These were just a few of the many words they heard, day after day. Society shunned them, ridiculed them, made them feel like they didn't belong simply because they were different.
But what society didn't know was that these three broken souls would soon find each other. Three people who had been pushed down, betrayed, and belittled by the world would soon cross paths.
When their lives collided, something changed. Each brought their own pain, their own dreams, and their own strength. Together, they decided they would no longer bow to the world's cruelty.
If the world wouldn't allow them to follow their dreams, then they would rewrite the rules. They would fight back. They would rise above the hatred.
And so, Vixen, Shadow, and Hex were born.
