The Beginning of the End

1530 hours

Canton, Ohio

It is bright outside and hot this biochemical hazard suit is very hot, but I don't want to get infected. You may be wondering what I mean, so let me explain. A fungus named Anr-21 has infected and destroyed most of the planet. I am a lone survivor and it is easy to stay alive. Oh yeah, there is this thing that happens to us when we become infected. They become superhuman they become faster, stronger, smarter, but the people's souls are gone it is just a shell of its former selves. That's why I wear my suit. I am going to call those beast Shelps. I feel happy with my life now it is so peaceful. I am going to sleep...

"HELP!!!!!" screamed someone. Ah man, why me, I am not a charity drive. I get up and jolt towards the scream it is a girl about to get converted.

I run towards the shelp and cuts his arms off then yell "You are not man, but beast and you must be purged!!!"

I sliced its head off and took of his suit and say "You need this more than me," She started to cry.

"Why are you crying?" I whispered.

"That was my dad! "She screamed then punches me. I fall on my back and get up and cock my arm back then realize that she just lost family so then I embrace her. I realize there is a shelp coming at us fast, we need to move, I push her out of the way. The shelp is running fast it jumped up and tackles me to the ground. I push it off of me then I punch it hard across the face. Then it threw me to the ground by my knife. I grabbed my knife then turned and stabbed the shelp continuously, but it is too late I have been cut. So I thought, I guess I didn't get cut.

I look at her and say" These are no longer humans get that through your skull". She started to run and I knew that she could be the last of her group so I followed. I ran for an hour then realize that she was being attacked, but it isn't shelps but human beings. Why did this have to happen to me, I liked peace? I jump down on one of their heads and throw my knife at the other, it pierce the his heart, then I take their guns. They get back up.

"How?" she says.

"There shelps", I say as I am and aim the gun and fire then I reload and try to shot but there are no more bullets. I pick up my knife and shove it through its eye. As I do so I look at the girl and state" These are not men anymore they are monsters."

I turn smiled then said "Come on,"

She starts to walk, but started to run. We raced for about a mile I won. Next I taught her how to kill shelps. She grabbed the knife then sliced up the shelps without a second thought. Like it was a game. It is now or never need us to find shelter before it is too late.
