if i had known i was going to be at a will reading-in one of the biggest houses i've ever seen-i wouldn't have worn a sweater, jeans and slippers to school. and it seemed like i was the only one because avery and her sister had on jeans and a tighter nicer looking top. then u remembered i did have a nicer looking top on underneath.
we entered the house and i was immediately convinced that this man had way more money than i could ever imagine. i'd figured out that he'd been the ninth richest man in the u.s. but i hadn't imagined this.
the foyer of the house was bigger than my old house and my current apartment, it was probably a thousand square feet. it seemed like it could be a ballroom with how big it was. all the gold accents around the room made it look even more ball-esque.
i stared in awe for a while before a familiar voice brought me back to the present, "i see you three have arrived, and right one time. i trust there were no problems with your flights?"
grayson hawthorne the man-or boy-that had pulled me out of school stood infront of avery and i wearing a completely different suit. this one was black-and so were his shirt and his tie. it made him look older than he had in the other suit, and if i was being honest it made him very attractive.
"you," alisa said with a steely-eyed look.
"i take it im not forgiven for interfering?" grayson asked."you're nineteen," alisa retorted, "would it kill you to act like it?"
"it might," grayson flashed a smile that almost melted my heart. almost, "and your welcome."
it took me a bit longer than it should've to realize that his interfering meant coming to collect avery and i because i guess we'd both been throwing out the letters we received.
i turned my attention back to grayson who started talking again, "may i collect your coats?"
i gave a small nod before slipping my hoodie over my head and handing it to him. avery's sister-libby-also handed her coat/sweater to him but avery kept hers.
grayson walked underneath one of the stone archers. there was a small corridor in the other side, small square panels lined the wall. grayson laid his hand down and pushed on one of the panels then twisted his hand about ninety degrees and pushed on another panel.
and then in a quick motion-which i didn't care to decode-hit two atleast two or three other panels. i heard a pop and then a door appeared, separating itself from the rest of the wall as it swung open.
