JAY'S POV
The next day of the shoot, my mind keeps drifting-wondering if I'll see her again. I scan the room, but she's nowhere to be found. Did she get sick from sitting in the rain?
"Cut!" the director shouts.
I sit down in my chair, still thinking about her. Just then, I notice someone holding a bunch of papers, obscuring her face. It's her. It's Aditi. Beautiful. I stand and walk over, grabbing some papers to help.
"Hey," I say while taking a few sheets from her.
"Thanks," she replies, her voice light.
"You okay?" I ask, concerned.
"What happened to me?" she asks, confused.
"I thought you might've gotten sick, you know, from soaking in the rain," I say.
She grins. "That's never gonna happen. Rain and I are best friends."
I smile back. "So... you coming to the next shoot in Wales?"
"I don't think i have a choice.." She says
Before I can respond, a voice cuts through the conversation.
"Aditi! What are you doing? Do you want him to do your work?" a woman shouts from across the room.
Aditi doesn't miss a beat. "What am I supposed to do? He's flirting with me," she says with a mischievous smile.
My eyes widen. The room falls silent, everyone suddenly staring at us.
"I'm not flirting," I say quickly.
"I know," she replies, her smile widening, "but they don't." She gestures toward the room, clearly enjoying the teasing.
"You'll get me in trouble," I mutter.
"Yes, for flirting with the 'very beautiful daughter of the richie rich producer,'" she says, still grinning.
I'm in shock, trying to process everything.
The woman shouts again from across the room. "She's lost it, guys. Don't believe her."
The tension eases, and everyone goes back to their work, but Aditi just laughs.
"Maybe not... because no one here ever takes me seriously," she teases, smiling as she grabs the rest of her papers from my hands and walks away.
I smile to myself as she walks away.
"Shot's ready," Harsh says.
But the smile stays, as if I've never been this happy to hear that. It feels strange, even to me.
Harsh gives me a puzzled look, like I've done something out of the ordinary.
( Days later )
Now we're in Wales, and I still haven't seen Aditi around. I spot the woman who scolded Aditi that day. As I approach her, the nearby staff members seem to perk up, excited by my unexpected approach.
"Sorry to bother you, ma'am, but have you seen Aditi anywhere?"
She sighs dramatically. "That girl... always missing her flights, so careless. It's like she's allergic to being on time!"
"Oh... When is she coming, then?" I ask, trying to hide my concern.
The woman gives me a knowing, teasing smile.
"No, it's not what you think," I rush to explain, feeling awkward.
She laughs lightly. "It's fine. She'll get here eventually-she doesn't have much of a choice. Her father will make sure of that, even if she misses every flight along the way."
