The week following the meeting with Rohan's family was a tumultuous one for Nisha. Although she felt a sense of relief after having voiced her feelings, the aftermath of that confrontation weighed heavily on her. Her parents were more subdued than usual, and their conversations with her felt strained. Nisha sensed the tension lingering in the air, yet she was determined to stand firm in her decision.

As she sat at her desk late one night, preparing for an important project due at university, her phone buzzed with a message. It was from Aarav.

*Hey, how have you been? Want to grab coffee tomorrow?*

Nisha smiled at the screen, feeling a spark of warmth. She appreciated how Aarav was always there for her. *I'd love to! Need to vent!*

*Perfect! Let's meet at our usual spot at 10 a.m. Can't wait to hear what's going on!*

The next morning, Nisha woke up feeling a mix of anticipation and anxiety. She dressed quickly, putting on her favorite blue dress, a color that always lifted her spirits. As she made her way to the café, she thought about how much Aarav's friendship meant to her during these challenging times.

When she arrived, Aarav was already seated at their usual table, sipping on his coffee. His face lit up when he saw her. "Hey, you look great! Ready to spill the tea?" he asked with a teasing grin.

Nisha chuckled, feeling her tension ease a bit. "Thanks! I definitely need to talk. Things have been... complicated," she said as she sat down.

Aarav leaned in, his expression turning serious. "Complicated how? You didn't say much after the meeting. Are your parents okay?"

Nisha sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "They're... trying to understand, but it's hard for them. I can tell they're disappointed. I hate feeling like I'm letting them down."

Aarav reached out and placed his hand over hers. "You're not letting them down. You're just choosing a different path. It's your life, Nisha."

"I know, but it feels like I'm fighting against a tide. They're so rooted in tradition, and I'm just trying to carve out my own space," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Aarav nodded in understanding. "You're doing something brave. Most people wouldn't have the guts to stand up for what they want. You're stronger than you think."

"Thanks, Aarav. I really needed to hear that," Nisha replied, her heart swelling with gratitude.

As they continued their conversation, Nisha found herself opening up more about her fears and dreams. "I've been thinking about internships, getting real-world experience, you know? But I feel so overwhelmed. It's like everyone has their life figured out, and I'm still trying to find my way."

"Internships are a great idea! You should definitely look into them," Aarav encouraged. "And trust me, no one has everything figured out. We're all just trying to figure it out as we go."

His words brought comfort to Nisha, and she smiled. "You're right. I need to stop comparing myself to others."

Aarav leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "You know, maybe you should take a look at some places that align with your interests. There are plenty of media houses and online publications looking for interns. You could make a real impact!"

Nisha's eyes lit up. "That's a good idea! I hadn't thought about it that way. I guess I've been so focused on the pressure from my parents that I forgot to focus on what I really want."

"Exactly! You need to follow your passion, and who knows? You might even discover something you love even more," Aarav said, his enthusiasm infectious.

Their conversation flowed easily, moving from her career aspirations to their favorite movies and the latest campus gossip. Nisha felt lighter, the weight of her worries dissipating as they shared laughter and stories.

After finishing their coffee, Aarav suddenly leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You know what you need? A plan! A battle plan to take on your parents and Rohan's family!"

Nisha raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "A battle plan?"

"Absolutely! You need to lay out your goals clearly—what you want, why it matters, and how you plan to achieve it. That way, you can present it to your parents and show them that you're serious about your future," he suggested.

Nisha considered this. "That might actually work. If I can show them that I have a clear vision for my life, they might be more supportive."

"Exactly! And remember, you can include some of the great internships or opportunities you want to pursue. It'll demonstrate that you're taking your career seriously," Aarav said, his excitement contagious.

"I love this idea! I'll start drafting something today," Nisha replied, feeling a renewed sense of purpose.

As they prepared to leave the café, Aarav stood up, a serious look on his face. "Nisha, I really believe in you. You have the strength to make this happen, but you need to stay true to yourself. Don't let anyone else's expectations drown out your voice."

Nisha nodded, her heart swelling with appreciation. "Thank you for always believing in me, Aarav. I can't express how much it means."

As they said their goodbyes and Nisha headed home, she felt a surge of motivation. The plan Aarav had suggested ignited a fire within her, and she couldn't wait to put it into action.

That evening, as she sat down at her desk, Nisha opened her laptop and began to outline her goals. With each bullet point, she felt more empowered. She included her dream internship positions, the skills she wanted to develop, and the stories she yearned to tell.

**"This is me,"** she thought as she typed, feeling a sense of clarity wash over her. Nisha realized that her journey wasn't just about pursuing a career in journalism; it was about discovering who she was and embracing her individuality.

Later that night, after she finished her draft, she took a moment to reflect. She needed to share this with her parents. It would be a difficult conversation, but it was necessary. They needed to understand her aspirations, and she needed to stand firm in her choices.

The next morning, with a mix of excitement and anxiety, Nisha approached her parents as they prepared breakfast. "Can we talk? I've been thinking a lot about everything," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.

Her parents exchanged glances, and her father nodded. "Of course, Nisha. What's on your mind?"

Nisha took a deep breath, clutching the notes she had prepared. "I want to share my goals with you—what I hope to achieve and how I plan to get there," she began, feeling her pulse quicken.

As she laid out her aspirations, detailing her plans for internships and her passion for storytelling, she watched her parents' expressions shift. Her mother's eyes softened, and her father listened intently, his brow furrowing in thought.

"I hope you can see that I'm serious about my future. I need your support in this journey," she finished, her heart racing.

There was a moment of silence before her father spoke. "Nisha, this is quite a lot to take in. We didn't realize you had thought so deeply about your future."

Her mother reached out, placing a hand on Nisha's arm. "I'm proud of you for standing up for what you want. It takes courage to follow your dreams."

Nisha felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Thank you, Mom. I just need you to believe in me," she replied, her voice thick with emotion.

Her father sighed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "It's not that we don't want to support you, Nisha. It's just that we worry about your future. But if this is what you truly want, we will try to understand."

Nisha felt a smile break through her anxiety. "I appreciate that. I really do. I want to show you that I can make this work."

As they continued to talk, Nisha felt the barriers between them slowly begin to dissolve. Her parents were finally starting to see her not just as their daughter but as an individual with dreams and aspirations.

That evening, as Nisha lay in bed, she couldn't help but feel hopeful. She had taken a significant step toward achieving her goals, and with the support of her parents and Aarav, she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
