Dear reader,

---

For years, I have been cultivating characters, nurturing them, understanding their motivations, their fears, and how they interact with each other. I've created worlds—some have been lost along the way, others are stored in thousands of folders scattered across my office.

But the characters, they remain. Worlds may disappear, but in my opinion, characters are immortal.

What's new in this universe you are about to explore? The succession of generations. This collection of chronicles is not the chronological beginning of the story, but it's the starting point I chose to have fun with. I hope you enjoy it as well.

As for the release schedule, I plan to publish a new scene every two weeks. Each scene will be a complete idea—with a beginning, middle, and end. A chapter, in turn, is a collection of these scenes, a mosaic that forms the bigger picture. Everything I write, whether here or in other series, is interconnected. I write about events that occur in the same universe, even if they vary in time and place.

So, if you choose to explore another series, one of my comic strips on Webtoon, a game I might develop — God willing — or even my poetry and music, know that everything is part of the same universe. These connections won't affect the experience of the casual reader, but those who follow me across different media will be rewarded with additional layers of content, revealed in various formats.

Speaking of music, there is a certain musicality to my texts. I write passages as if they were measures in a musical score. You can think of it as a camera angle or as a way for me to gauge whether a scene is getting too dull, thus keeping a balance in what I call the "melody of the scene." When you see "---", it's just a marker representing one of the essential pieces that make up the scene.

---

This collection of chronicles also marks a special moment in my journey. I'm offering you a small piece of land in this world. Imagine yourself sitting at Café Carmelita, hearing stories about how the gangs formed in the city, about the grumpy detective shaking up the troublemakers, or about the silent vigilante who keeps criminals up at night.

I invite you to visit this city, to talk with me, and to meet people who make virtues bloom amidst the coldness of vice.
