We cut to the Jumpman family getting ready for bed. But, as Meggy was walking to the bedroom, she saw Misty trying to do the spiral kick.
Misty: One more try... (Spins, but gets dizzy and lands on the ground) Oof. Hehehe.
Meggy: ... Hehe. (Walks to her) It's time for bed, Misty.
Misty: Aw... but I wanted to learn that cool kick you did!!! You looked awesome doing that!
Meggy: Well, it takes practice, sweetie. You don't learn these things on the first day. I should know. All that stuff I did took a lot of time.
Misty: Really?
Meggy: Yep! It's kind of the story of my life.

Meggy: Yep! Though, some of it can be scary.

Meggy: Back then, Inkopolis was known for one thing. Turf wars. They were a common thing every month, and all kinds of people would participate in them. Including... One Shot Wren.

Meggy: Anyway, in 1998, I was born in summer. I lived a mostly normal childhood until I was around 2. After I did, Dad took me to my first splatfest.
We then see a younger Jay and tiny Meggy at the splatfest.
Past Meggy: Daddy... I scawed.
Past Jay: Don't worry, Meggy. I'll be right here.
Past Meggy: O- Okay.
Then, the tournament began, and Meggy saw Wren doing crazy and taking down every opponent with no issue.
Meggy: The moment I saw Wren take down the other competitors, I saw something I wanted to try as an adult!!! So, every month, Dad took me to Wrens splatfests, and one time, after it ended, I walked down to him, and he saw me and gave me something I had ever since... his red beanie.
Past Wren: (Gives it to her) Heh. You look like you have potential, Kid. Go far with it. (Leaves)
Past Meggy: (Puts it on) 😦😀😃🤩 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!
Meggy: Since then... I swore I would win a splatfest.
