The valley and the land surrounding it grew quieter as twilight approached, the sounds of the day fading with the light. The wind, which had been a constant presence throughout the day, now seemed different—gentler, but still quite heavy with an unspoken message, as though it carried a secret waiting to be revealed.

Nausicaa paused in her steps, feeling the breeze caress her skin lightly. She briefly glanced up at the sky, then at Asbel, who walked quietly beside her. Neither of them spoke for a long moment, allowing the serene silence of the valley to envelop them. The air felt heavier now, more meaningful, like they were being guided toward something unknown.

Perched on her shoulder like a bird, Teto twitched his nose suspiciously. "Odd...," Nausicaa said softly, finally breaking the silence. Her voice was almost lost in the gentle rustle of the trees from the wind. "The wind feels... different today... almost like it's trying to speak to us."

Teto let out a gentle chitter, his tiny body stirred up against Nausicaa's neck. Nausicaa stroked him between his ears, giving him a comforting touch.

Asbel turned to her, his eyes reflecting the golden light. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, though his expression was thoughtful. "I felt it too," he admitted. "Like it's guiding us... somewhere special."

Teto let out another chitter, this time more inquisitive. He kinked his tiny head to the side, scanning the unseen path ahead. Nausicaa gave a gentle smile to Teto. "It's okay, Teto," she murmured reassuringly. "We're safe."

They ventured further and further into the unknown, away from the valley. Their steps slowed down as if the world around them began to shift subtly. The colors of green began to fade into soft hues of gold. The grass beneath their feet began to elongate and shimmer, as if they're being kissed by the rays of the sun.

Teto skittered down to Nausicaa's arm, his small paws gripping onto her sleeve as he looked around curiously. His nose rapidly twitched as if he was trying to get a better sense of the golden surroundings. Nausicaa felt her breath caught in her throat as memories from her childhood flooded her mind: memories of laughter, of peace, of times before the wars happened.

She stopped, her eyes grew wide with awe. "This place... I've been here before," she whispered, her voice filled with wonder. "It's just as I remember it, but... somehow different."

Asbel came to stand beside her, watching her closely, his sight lingered at landscape: the golden trees with leaves swaying ever so gently in the breeze; ripe, golden fruit hanging from the tree branches; and the golden hues in the sky completing the beauty of the golden forest. "What is this place?" he asked softly, his voice quiet, filled with curiosity.

Nausicaa smiled faintly, her eyes still wandering over the luscious golden landscape. "When I was a child, I used to come here," she explained, her voice tinged with nostalgia. "This was my secret place... a place where I could escape, where everything felt... calm, untouched by the world."

She paused, reaching her hand out to gently touch one of the golden trees. Teto scampered back up to her shoulder, his ears and nose twitching slightly in interest as Nausicaa caressed the bark with her fingertips, feeling its rough texture. Out of the blue, a strange warmth spread through her hand, grounding her in the moment. She smiled. "But, it somehow feels different now," she resumed, her voice soft and gentle. "It's like the forest has been waiting... waiting for me to return."

For a brief moment, neither of them spoke, content to stand in the peaceful silence of the golden forest, with only the sound of the wind gently howling.

The soft, long grass beneath them swayed gently, caressing Nausicaa's shoes. Her gaze focused over the landscape; her thoughts filled with nostalgia and something new - something warm and comforting.

"I think I'll lie down for a moment or two," Nausicaa spoke, her voice quieter than a whisper. She took a few steps away from the tree and lied down in the long, golden grass, caressing her skin ever so slightly. It was as if the Earth was embracing her. Teto curled up into a ball, snuggling up with Nausicaa and feeling the golden grass caress him as well. Nausicaa's eyes grew heavy, her thoughts focusing on the nature of the golden forest.

Asbel looked at her daringly, giving a gentle smile at her. His eyes expressed nothing but passion. But, at the same time, his heartbeat picked up its pace, pounding within his chest.
