It was a rare afternoon off for Elphaba and Glinda at Shiz University. They decided to spend it in their dorm room, catching up on some much-needed relaxation. The room was filled with the sound of laughter and playful banter, a testament to how far their friendship had come.
Glinda: (giggling) "Elphie, I can't believe you still wear those old boots. They're practically falling apart!"
Elphaba looked down at her well-worn boots, a smirk playing on her lips.
Elphaba: "Well, at least my boots have character. Unlike your endless collection of pink shoes."
Glinda gasped in mock horror, clutching her chest dramatically.
Glinda: "How dare you insult my shoes! They are the epitome of style and grace."
Elphaba rolled her eyes, unable to suppress a laugh.
Elphaba: "If by 'style and grace' you mean 'blindingly bright,' then yes, they certainly are."
Glinda stuck out her tongue, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
Glinda: "You're just jealous because you can't pull off pink like I can."
Elphaba raised an eyebrow, a playful challenge in her gaze.
Elphaba: "Oh really? Watch this."
She grabbed one of Glinda's pink scarves and wrapped it around her neck, striking a pose.
Elphaba: "How do I look?"
Glinda burst into laughter, clapping her hands in delight.
Glinda: "Absolutely fabulous, Elphie! You might just start a new trend."
Elphaba joined in the laughter, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. Moments like these reminded her of how much she valued their friendship.
Elphaba: "Alright, Miss Fashionista, let's see you try something green."
Glinda's eyes widened, but she accepted the challenge. She picked up one of Elphaba's green scarves and draped it over her shoulders, attempting a serious expression.
Glinda: "How do I look?"
Elphaba grinned, giving her a thumbs up.
Elphaba: "Not bad, Glinda. Not bad at all."
They both collapsed onto the bed, still laughing and teasing each other. The playful banter was a welcome break from the pressures of their studies and the expectations placed upon them.
Glinda: (sighing contentedly) "You know, Elphie, I really cherish these moments with you. It's nice to just be ourselves."
Elphaba: (smiling) "I feel the same way, Glinda. You bring out a side of me I didn't know existed."
Glinda reached out and squeezed Elphaba's hand, her eyes filled with genuine affection.
Glinda: "We're quite the pair, aren't we?"
Elphaba: (nodding) "Yes, we are. And I wouldn't have it any other way."
As the afternoon sun streamed through the window, they lay there, basking in the comfort of their friendship. In that moment, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would always have each other to lean on and laugh with.
