. . .

𝓣he beginning of a legend birthed two sons from the sky — Palk and Kud.

In the heavenly hour of their emanation, the birds sung the most mellifluous of tunes, perched in trees that whispered the forthcoming of a miracle. The clouds parted from the sun and light rays shattered into fragments that bore Palk's soul. And in the absence of that missing light, a shadow festered to manifest the essence of Kud. It is only understandable that, from the very moment of existence, they could not sustain a life without each other.

The tales of their birth were carved on stone tablets and dried leaves, spoken among humans, recited in prayers. When Palk hopped from cloud to cloud along the burning sun, Kud rested under the shade of the moon. Before they realised, more and more humans sought to plunder mountaintops to present their offerings to the carefree deities. Their lights and darks were praised, their bravest feats celebrated and their sorrows were shared. Legends upon legends of theirs filled shelves of a library.

The brothers were inseparable, and content.

Until, one day. Within Kud's darkness, another shadow started to emerge.

Distaste.
