The drive to Mr Felix’s house was a quiet one. He and Raymond hardly said anything to each other. Raymond just scanned through the street from the window on his side of the car.

In about 15 minutes, they arrived at the house. It was bigger than the others on the street looking magnificent in its brown and cream colors. Raymond stepped out of the car slowly, soaking in the structure of the building.

‘When last have I been at a house this big?’ He thought.

‘Welcome home, son.’ Mr Felix said walking up to him from behind and giving him a pat on the shoulder. Raymond felt warm like this was his home that he had lived all his life.

‘Life is starting to make sense.’ He murmured under his breath.

The duo walked into the house and went through a warmly lit passage before they came to the living room. Mr Felix opened the door of the living room and led Raymond in. Raymond was shocked to his bones at the sight that greeted him.

‘Oh, finally!’ Came Williams’ exasperated voice from a chair in the room. Raymond was still stunned.

‘You… You know each other?’ Raymond managed to ask glancing from Williams to Mr Felix.

‘Let’s just say we do.’ Mr Felix said smiling as Williams' face lit up with a grin.

‘I can’t believe he got you to come here.’ Williams said as he face-palmed.

‘Oh, please. Give him a break.’ A lady said to Williams from across the room. She was light-skinned with brown hair that matched her brown eyes. ‘Do you know how hard it was for me to get you?’ She continued raising an eyebrow with a teasing smile.

Williams responded raising his two arms in mock surrender. ‘Okay, okay. I was a tough nut. Agreed, but have you met this guy?’ He asked, and the lady rolled her eyes picking up the magazine she had been reading earlier.

Mr Felix’s wife walked in briskly through another door to find out what was going on. She gasped as she caught sight of Raymond.

‘Oh, he’s here.’ She said looking at him tenderly. ‘God be praised.’ She added looking up to Heaven.

Raymond was still shocked at how they were all expecting him. Mr Felix had to step in to rescue him from the drama.

‘Raymond, meet my wife, Sandra. These are Mia and Williams.’ Mr Felix said introducing all of them to Raymond. There was silence for some seconds.

‘Mission accomplished.’ Williams sighed under his breath, but Raymond heard him.

‘What mission?’ Raymond asked.

‘To save you, of course.’ Williams responded.

‘Save me from what?’ Raymond asked bewildered.

‘I think that’s enough for one night.’ Mr Felix cut in. ‘Williams, show Raymond to his room. He’ll need the rest.’ He continued.

Williams stood gesticulating to Raymond to follow him. Raymond was hesitant, but a pat on the shoulder from Mr Felix reassured him that it was okay. That man was like a father to him now.

Williams led Raymond into a spacious room that was well-arranged. It had all that he needed even a personal restroom.

‘Here.’ Williams called from behind handing him a blue leather Bible. Raymond smiled as he saw it and collected it from him. It fascinated Williams how Raymond loved the colour.

‘Thank you.’ Raymond said tenderly. Williams nodded and left shutting the door to give Raymond his privacy.
Raymond looked at the Bible studying its leather cover. He noticed it was a New living translation. Something else caught his attention. At the centre of the front cover, there was an emblem embroidered into the book. It looked like a sword with a hole between its guards.

Raymond put the tip of his finger in the hole of the sword and felt a warm sensation on it that gradually grew till it became unbearably hot. He had to remove his finger which was already turning red. Surprised at what just happened, Raymond took a closer look at the Bible, but his mind was too tired to figure it out. He dropped the Bible on the drawer beside his bed and laid to rest till he slept.

As Raymond lay resting, the hole in the sword on his Bible lit up a fiery red. A brilliant golden yellow spread from it till it covered the whole Bible and gradually faded as it had come. That was no ordinary book; it was special.
