the sun hung low in the cloudy sky, a sign that the days were shortening and that fall was approaching. school felt weird to riki now that his older friends, especially jungwon, had already graduated, and even weirder that it'd be his turn in roughly 10 months.
riki paced towards the somewhat shady looking area of the bleachers, the wind, cool and unrelenting blowing violently in his face. annoyingly.
shizuka leaned against the bleachers, a lollipop poking out of her left cheek as she glares holes into his impending figure, her shiny hair catching the last glimpses of light. the wind blew in her face just as him, but unfortunately it seemed to favour her much more - she almost looked ethereal.
if it weren't for the unfriendly scowl planted on her face.

riki scoffs, putting his bag down as they climb underneath the bleachers, leaving their presence unknown to the world. they already were unknown - by those closest to them, and by those looming around their outer circles.

"you look like shit." he finally speaks up, as shizuka removes the lollipop from her plump lips with a pop, glaring up at the taller boy.

those eyes could kill.

"you smell like shit. ever heard of a shower, or is that not part of your vocabulary?"

he scoffs, in a mix of annoyance and humilation that he can't think of a comeback for that one. "remember what we're here for."

shizukas eyes narrow, almost as if she was waiting for this very moment. her eyes were as sharp as ever, and it's not just her eyeliner. she wants kenji to feel her wrath, no matter how far she'd have to go. yeah, it's a shitty thing to do, but she knows she's far from being a good person either way.

"right, genius. any ideas within that beautiful brain of yours?"

riki rolls his eyes at her sarcasm, before speaking, almost coldly. "we hit him where it hurts."

shizuka frowns, swirling her lollipop in her mouth. "most people know he's an asshole already. what more can we possibly do? just telling people he's an ass won't do anything."

"exactly. but what if we.. made it personal?"
shizuka tilts her head at this, his words igniting that familiar spark within the depths of her eyes. her eyes could tell stories, he learned, and right now, he can tell that he's gathered her interest.

"have you watched gossip girl?" riki interjects, almost excitedly.
shizuka gives him a weird look, blinking confusingly. "uh.. no..?"
"huh. well, real men watch gossip girl-"

"cut to the point, nishimura. i have three art assignments and sleep to catch up on."

"what if we started some anonymous blog where we spill everything? like gossip girl. it doesn't have to just be kenji. it could be anyone who fucked with us in the past. we could- we could make it a place where people share their stories without anyone knowing. that would get people talking."

shizuka hums. "not bad, nishimura. not bad. you think that would work?" her eyes light up, as if her brain was working at 100 miles an hour.

"if we word the stories right. definitely. words are powerful. it could ruin him."
shizuka hums, still somewhat reluctant, but more or less excited. "okay, but we need to be careful. once something is up on the internet it can't go back off."

"i've basically figured it out. we use a school computer out of hours on a guest account, with a VPN. you're the creative one. you can design the blog page on, like, some website making site or whatever, and then boom. it's up."

shizuka falls into a contemplative silence. "you've really figured this one out, huh?"

he nods, clearing his throat. "yeah. uh, i've been looking into it for awhile. you know, aeri." he flushes a little. "i just needed someone to do it with me. i guess i've found that someone."

she opens her mouth to respond, but the all too familiar rumble of her stepdads run down car. the air around them shifted, their usual tension finding its place back within their complex relationship.

he rarely picks her up from school.
she's in deep shit.

she clears her throat, nodding. "okay. i'll work on the layout a little tonight. tell me tomorrow in school whatever dirt you find out, and i'll work on it tomorrow."

"yeah, okay."

she nods as they fall into an awkward. quiet silence, interrupted by the car honking. "well, bye riki."

"bye, shizuka." he simply hums, turning back to the courts as he moves to practice a little more.
