Dhampir

"Dhampirs are part human and part vampire. Like most hybrids, they are stronger than both of their parents. And they have the best of both worlds. Not only do they possess all of a vampire's powers and abilities, and even heightened psionic abilities, but they have none of their weaknesses, except for their thirst." ― Bobby on Dhampirs

Dhampirs, also called Daywalkers, are the hybrid union between a male vampire and a female human. They are beings with characteristics from their vampiric fathers, but lacking many of their weaknesses. Dhampirs are exceedingly rare, more so since the 1800s after they were hunted to near extinction by Klaus Mikaelson.

- Overview:

The birth of a Dhampir is extremely difficult, due to the vampiric strength the baby possesses. For this reason, very few mortal women survive the process and this is true for Tamsin Stark who died following the birth of her daughter, Diana.

Because of the fact that they are naturally stronger than their vampire parents, they are treated with fear and mistrusted by regular vampires, although those who want power would try and seek out Dhampirs for their own gain.

Dhampirs are characterized by their supernatural beauty, impressive psionic abilities, and incredible strength.

Description:

A Dhampir being an offspring of both vampire and human. At the stage of infancy, they are so beautiful and highly intelligent, much more than that of a natural human child. Their childhood remains relatively human for what they are with them ageing to their early 20s as a human would, however during puberty the need for blood takes hold and it is this time that they also grow their fangs and develop their psionic and vampire abilities.

Dhampirs are incredibly rare, as they can only be born to certain bloodlines. It's unknown what specifically causes the conception of a dhampir, only that not every human woman can become pregnant with a dhampir. Diana has been searching for 2 years to find another like her in America, and has come up blank, though she has heard rumours that up until the 1800s there were significant numbers of them but they were hunted by a 'great monster'.

Powers and Abilities:

Dhampirs are very powerful individuals, having inherited a vampire's powers like immortality and supernatural strength. Unlike vampires though, dhampirs are only annoyed by sunlight and vervain.

Dhampirs are also naturally gifted with psionics such as telekinesis and telepathy on a level far higher than their vampire relatives.

"Vampires with psionic powers; Dhampirs.....an abomination of nature"

"Ah well, love you too" - Castiel and Diana

Superhuman Strength: Diana possesses vast physical strength. She is able to carry, lift and exert hundreds of tons of force when pushing herself to the limit of her strength and when she is routinely drinking human blood.

At her peak, Diana possesses sufficient superhuman strength to lift approximately 2,000 - 3,000 lbs.

Superhuman Speed: Diana can run and fly faster than the speed of sound. During her first flight, Diana travelled all the way from Malibu to the savannas of Kenya and then to the Monument Valley in Utah, all in a matter of minutes. Diana is even capable of moving at a level of speed close to Quicksilver however with much greater ease.

- Superhuman Reflexes: Diana's speed extends to her reflexes as well.

Super Agility: As a dhampir, Diana possesses much more superhuman stamina, flexibility, agility and dexterity than immortals, non-original vampires, werewolves, evolved werewolves and humans. She can move, jump, climb, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion. She might also be on par with the Originals, and possibly even Klaus himself.
